19. The Cavalry Battle

Midnight began reviewing the results of the first competition. You were overjoyed when she announced that you had finished first but your face paled when she announced that you had 10 million points.

Everyone around you gave you hungry death glares, making you shiver. Midnight announced the rules of the cavalry battle and the battle commenced.

Everyone began forming teams. Almost everyone had asked you to join forces with them.

"Hey Bakugou, team up with me!" Kirishima said. "Weird hair." Bakugou said. "Hey! My hair's not that different from yours!" He shot back. You snickered at the interaction.

You and Bakugou glanced at each other wanting to team up. "Let's team up, Y/N." He suggested.

"Alright. You said, "but you're gonna have to carry me you know."
"HAAH? Why would I carry you?"
"Cause I'm gonna be wearing the headband, obviously."
"NO! I refuse."
"Fine. I'll find somebody else to team up with then."
"Fine!"
"Fine!"

In the end, your team consisted of Midoriya, Uraraka and Tokoyami. The battle began.

A team started charging towards yours right away. The ground turned into quicksand it seemed and your team began to sink.

You quickly flew everyone upwards getting away. "You're quirk's amazing, Y/N!" Uraraka exclaimed.

You blew hagakures headband off and carried it towards your team. You went even higher, trying to get away from Mineta's team.

You looked down and saw Bakugou blasting himself towards you. This idiot! Is that even allowed? He aimed a huge explosion at Midoriya which Tokoyami blocked, sending Bakugou back where he came from.

When Bakugou went back to his team, a boy from 1B stripped his headband off him. You snickered.

"You're famous aren't you?" You heard him ask Bakugou. "As a victim of the sludge incident. Tell me about it some-"

"SHUT UP!" Bakugou interrupted. "KIRISHIMA! NEW PLAN. We're gonna kill them all!" What is this sludge everyone keeps talking about? You wondered.

You landed back down on the battlefield as you needed to conserve your energy but Todoroki, Kaminari and a bunch of other groups started charging towards you when you did.

Your group evaded most of the attacks with ease but when Todoroki charged towards you with Iidas speed, you were defenceless. You tried to push him away but he preficted your moves and stole the headband right from your forehead.

Guilt surged through you. You had let your team down. "No!" Midoriya yelled "We have to get it back!"

He was right. There was time. You could still steal it back from Todoroki. You had to do something

Monoma was starting to get onto Bakugou's last nerve. He was copying everyone's quirks and using it against him. Bakugou couldn't stand it. He still had to get to you to steal your 10 million.

Bakugou was outraged. He charged towards Monoma and stole all his headbands using brute force. Using the gained momentum, he stole headbands from a couple of your teams before heading towards you.

Todoroki had created a huge wall of ice, blocking you off from the rest of the teams. So you decided to let your guard down and go for his headband.

Suddenly, Todoroki's team seemed to be drawn towards the ground, just as what had happened at USJ.

It was you. You had been pushing the air around them downwards with such vigour that it seemed like the gravity had intensified.

This was your chance. You charged towards Todoroki's group and stole his headband.

"We got it!" Midoriya said, rejoicing. But when you looked down...... Shit.

It was the wrong headband. They had tricked you. You lunged towards Todoroki, determined to steal the headband.

Just then, Bakugou emerged from behind the ice wall. "Y/N! I'LL GET MY 10 MILLION" He howled but realised it wasn't with you. He changed the direction of his trajectory mid air and set course for him.

Both your teams were about to clash with Todoroki's......... "TIME'S UP" Boomed Mic's voice.

Bakugou fell to the ground and began throwing a tantrum like a child. You would have laughed at him had you not been just as angry yourself.

Your team placed fourth and you would advance to the next round. "I'm sorry I let you down, guys." You said bitterly to your teammates but they told you it was alright.
