51. Katsuki

The next night, you couldn't sleep. You stood up and walked downstairs to the common room. Everything was such a disaster.

First, Katsuki got kidnapped by villains but when everything was finally okay, your grandmother had to show up to mess you up again and when she finally left, Katsuki and you began fighting and you weren't even sure what it was about anymore.

You groaned and poured yourself a glass of water. But the jug slipped from your hand and crashed to the ground, when you heard a loud boom which had startled you.

Great. Like my life couldn't get any worse. But the blasts grew louder. What on earth was going on? It sounded like.... Katsuki.

When you went to check it out, your eyes widened. It was Katsuki and Midoriya. They were fighting each other.

Katsuki fell backwards. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" He yelled. "Why did someone like you get stronger? Why was I the one who ended All Might?"

What the hell was going on? You went against every fibre in your being that told you to rush out there and pull him into a hug because you knew you shouldn't interfere.

You just silently watched as him and Midoriya went at it. You knew he had probably figured out Midoriya's and All Might's secret.

You watched as Katsuki delivered a final blow to Midoriya, blasting him into the ground from the air and took him down soon after. The smoke cleared.

Katsuki was covered in bruises. But what shattered your heart was his broken expression.

Just then All Might walked upto them and told them to break it up. "Why him? Why this guy?" Katsuki asked him.
"He was powerless but more heroic than anyone else. You were somebody who could already compete." He said.

"I'm weak too, you know.... I always wanted to be strong like you! And I was the one who made you become like that..." Katsuki said in such a broken, pained tone that it physically hurt you to watch someone who was so strong break like this. "I was always going to end up like this...." All Might said and left it as that.

You rolled your eyes. How comforting, All Might. You couldn't take it anymore. You ran towards him and pulled him into a hug.

"Y/N?" He rasped, surprised to see you. He buried his face into the crook of your neck and gave your body a squeeze before pulling away. "How much did you hear?" He asked.

"It's okay, Katsu. I already knew everything." You confessed. He stared at you. His heart was breaking again. "Y-You knew?"
"Katsu-I- Yes."
"And y-you didn't tell me? You lied to me?"

"No! Katsuki, it wasn't like that!" He looked at you feeling betrayed as a tear ran down his face which he wiped away quickly before anyone noticed but you did.

"I couldn't tell you, Katsuki!" You said. "You know I couldn't have!" You explained, reaching out to cup his face but he slapped your hand away.

"Don't." He said. "Just....go away." His voice trembled as he turned away from you.

"No it was me, Kacchan! I told her to keep it a secret from you." Midoriya tried to defend you.

"Shut the fuck up Deku." He said.
"Katsu, I'm re-"
"I dont want to hear it. Just fucking leave me alone." His voice was cracking again as he said those words to you.

Tears began welling in your eyes and you swiftly walked past him and blasted yourself into the air, taking off to clear your thoughts.

You flew all the way back to the fourth floor of the dorms and walked to Katsuki's room.

"Katsu...." You knocked on the door. "Can we please talk?"

"I have nothing to say to you." He said from the other side.
"Please, Katsu. I had no choice."
"Just leave, Y/N."

"Katsuki! Open the door!" You tried the doorknob and to your surprise it twisted open and you stumbled into the room.

He looked at you in alarm, clearly having forgotten whether he had locked it or not.

He was sitting on his chair. His head was bleeding and bruises covered his arms. He looked absolutely exhausted and you could see dried tears on his face. He had a pained expression on his face.

You ran to him and engulfed him in your arms. "Katsu-!" You said.
"Stop it, Y/N! I get it, you don't fucking trust me. Just leave." He said pushing you away and standing up.
"I couldn't tell you Katsuki. I would never want to hurt you! I love you so much. I never would have hidden this from you if I had a choice!"

"No, you lied to me!" He cried. "ALL OF YOU LIED TO ME. THIS ENTIRE TIME. You. Deku. All Might. You're fucking leaving me for that weirdo from the exams! AND NOW DEKU GETS THE EASY WAY TO THE TOP TO BE ALL MIGHT'S SUCCESSOR WHILE I HAVE TO BE THE END OF HIS CAREER."

He barely finished his last sentence before you embraced him again and he broke down into your arms.

Everything was coming out now. All the emotions he had kept bottled up so deep inside of him had resurfaced. He got himself kidnapped, causing trouble for everyone, and ended All Might's career. You and Deku had kept him in the dark the entire time. You probably didn't love him anymore and were having dinner with Inasa. The pain hit him like a bus.

"It's not your fault." You comforted him over and over. "I'm not leaving you for anyone, Katsu, I promise." Sobs racked through his chest as you held him close. It hurt you so much to see him like this. To watch the strongest person you knew completely break down and shatter like this broke your heart into a million pieces.

But that wasn't important. He was the one with the hole in his heart. He needed you more than ever and you were there for him.

"I can't become a hero. I can't even keep myself from getting kidnapped. How will I protect others? How can i protect you? Even villains think I'm better suited to become one of them." He just sounded so broken.

"No. Katsu. Stop it. God, how can you say that? If it wasn't for you, the villains would have got me too. You pushed me out of the way. You saved me. You're already a hero! You got kidnapped by the league of villains. Anyone else would have caved right away but you resisted it for days. Your resolve didn't waver even a bit! You're the strongest person I know. I believe in you. And I love you because of it. If you can't see that in yourself, you're a fucking idiot."

Your presence alone was like ambrosia, trickling into his soul, filling the cracks in his heart, healing him. He had his flaws, his weaknesses, his insecurities that held him back, rupturing him from within but you were his cure. Something that kept him sane through everything.

But your words were what made him forget everything. He was almost hypnotized by you. Each word you uttered seemed to be true. Hell, if you told him to jump off a cliff, he wouldve done it without hesitation at this point.

You helped him nurse his wounds and wiped away his tears. He eventually drifted into a deep sleep in your arms during the late hours of the night.
