Aaron donated five thousand. Carlos donated a more stingy two and a half. Suzuki gave a whopping twenty thousand, almost mirroring Parker’s initial number. Parker was excited about doubling the money immediately. Next, he went to Kylee and Leon. He met them in the park. They sat on a bench, underneath a tree. It was cloudy out, and cool. After explaining Charlotte’s situation to them, he asked for some help for her.

“So, she did end up getting infected.” Leon leaned forward, in thought.

“She should have just listened.” Kylee shook her head. “She was foolish and is reaping what she sowed.”

“Yes, I agree.” Parker said quickly. “But I still care about her.” He took a big breath. “I know it's unfair to ask you guys for help, since I should've been more insistent on stopping her. But she's all our friend, right? If we can help her pay it off as soon as possible, the sooner she can go spelunking with us again.”

“Knowing her, she'd probably force herself to keep going, anyway.” She rolled her eyes.

“Yeah.” Leon nodded subtly. “She needs to stop.” He made eye contact with Parker. “Parker, man, I'll gladly pitch in. But on the condition that you talk to her about her self-destructive behavior.”

“Yeah. I mean, isn't that missing chunk of her head also because of caving? She needs to be more mindful of what she's doing.” Kylee agreed.

Parker nodded. “You're right. I'll talk to her about it.”

Leon beamed. “Great! In that case, I'll donate. You looking for a specific amount?”

“Not-.. really? Anything helps.”

“How about we discuss it on a walk? Enjoy the weather.”

“The weather isn't exactly beautiful right now.” Kylee smirked.

He shrugged. “Still not bad. Much better than winter Wisconsin weather; where I come from.”

“I wouldn't mind walking with you guys.” Parker said.

“Cool.” He stood up. “Let's walk and talk.”
