Charlotte, with Parker’s help and support, got a date for her mold removal: January 20th. After negotiating with the hospital and explaining Charlotte’s situation, it was agreed that she would pay for the treatment over the course of five years. Parker agreed to focus on house bills so that she could focus on saving up to pay it all off. She was so grateful for him.

A week and a half passed. It was beginning to get late. The two had returned home from a motorcycle ride, in which Charlotte had gotten a bit dirty. She just finished taking a shower. She strolled into the living room, stretching. Parker stepped into her lane as she came in, watching her. “Mmmm, I'm hungry.” She commented.

He chuckled. “Yeah, same.”

“Wanna go some-” As she was a few feet away from him, her body suddenly went limp.

This was familiar.

She crashed into Parker. “Woah, Charlotte!” Off guard, he clumsily caught her, falling on his butt, but shielding her from the impact. He grunted.

Charlotte was certain she felt this before while on The Plane. She was more calm, but all the uncomfortable feelings were present: the feeling of throwing up, but nothing coming up, the sudden, brief headache, the tense heartache. She writhed gently against him, grateful for his comfort.

“Charlotte, are you okay?! What happened?!” He asked with panic, watching, unsure what to do.

“Nnnnh-” She used a bit of strength to look up at him. “It's okay-” She winced. “Give me a-.. second.” She groaned.

He was still panicking, but he obeyed. Charlotte could feel the pain and fatigue slowly fade away. She breathed slowly, calming her insides down. Parker’s body was comfortable.

“S-Sorry.” She felt more control of her limbs return. “It's the mold.” She gently adjusted and separated from him, on her knees.

Parker let out a stressed sigh. “God. Scared the shit out of me, I thought you were gonna die.”

She chuckled weakly, slowly standing up. “Don't worry, Parker. I'm okay. Thank you for being there for me.” She helped him up, smiling gratefully at him.

It relieved him to see her okay. “I can't wait till the day that that mold goes away.”

She giggled. “Soon.”
