It took a little while for Charlotte to fall asleep, but she eventually did. She really needed it; she was more tired than she realized.
The sound of a strange voice woke her up. She softly groaned, her eyes blinking tiredly, an unpleasant frown on her face. “-got songs, documents, images, videos,” Someone was talking. Who the hell was that? She didn't recognize the voice. The voice sounded so freakish. Alarmed, she shot herself up to see a weird, low poly folder with limbs. She stared at it, slightly disturbed. “And can answer such questions as: “What’s the weather like?”, “What was the score of last night’s game?” and, “Can you set a reminder for 2:30 on Tuesday?””
“Wait,” Soda Bottle loudly said. Charlotte looked over at him. He was laying on the ground, probably had fallen asleep as well. “Who the heck is that guy?” He seemed to connect the dots in his head, and looked up at the sky. “Are you seriously getting more contestants?!” He raised a fist at Airy.
“This one.. is..” Airy said, ignoring him. “Uh.. Abstracty.” Ah, so he was adding more contestants. Just great.
Soda Bottle’s eyes fell half lidded. He spoke sarcastically, “Doesn't look very abstract to me-”
Suddenly, a.. singularity spawned. Soda Bottle jumped in surprise, sliding back on his bottom. It was freakish; a conglomerate of many different colored, transparent triangles. Charlotte felt disgusted just looking at it. Creeped out, too. She glanced around at who else this awful host added. Other than the two she saw, the only other “object”—if they could even be called that—was a giant text box.
What the hell.
The singularity—Abstracty—began moving, hovering in a perfect line towards Backpack. It got just a few inches away from his face, staring him down. Backpack was intimidated. “Uh..” He spat out awkwardly, unsure.
Suddenly, the unholy sounds of glass shards clanging and scraping against one another reverberated loudly from the entity, as it morphed into an abstract, disgusting form of Backpack. Then, Abstracty spoke. “Hi, my name is Liam! I'm a backpack, and my leg hurts!” Its voice was similar to Backpack’s, but it was obviously not his—more like something out of a horror film.
“I don't..” Liam started, dropping his singular crutch. “Feel very good.” He fainted.
“Backpack!” Scenty exclaimed, catching his falling body.
Charlotte watched with disgust. How many more of these hellish things was he gonna bring?!
“Next is.. uh. Stone.” Airy’s voice announced.
She noticed the Stone in question, walking up to Subway Seat and Whippy Creamy. It exchanged some sign language with them. The two boys didn't seem to understand.
The second batch of contestants were fine—since they acted like normal people—but these new contestants were so strange, that it made Charlotte upset that Airy even brought these things on. Not to mention that their presence would prolong the competition even further.
She needed Airy to stop bringing more of them here. “Are we done with the freak show here?” She annoyedly glared up at the sunless sky, hoping to put an end to this.
“Hi, I'm Moldy!” The freakiest of them all, Abstracty, had changed forms and became her, mold and all. She hadn't even noticed that it had done that. Her eyes widened in horror, looking at the screwed up reflection. “I'm a total jerkwad who insults people to improve my own self image.”
Her brow furrowed, and she gave it a cold glare. That wasn't even true. It hadn't even used her real name. It was still annoying to hear, though. She looked away, trying to ignore it. That’d probably get it to stop impersonating her.
