Parker woke up late the next morning, expectedly. His head spun a tiny bit as he sat up in bed. A homely aroma wafted in the air. Peni had brought a plate of breakfast back to their cabin. He yawned loudly.

“Oh, finally. It's about time you woke up.” She sarcastically remarked.

“Breakfast without me?” He asked jokingly after his yawn.

She rolled her eyes. “I tried waiting for you to wake up so that we could go eat together, but you took too long. I was starving.”

As she chewed on her food, he chuckled, shrugging it off. “I was kidding—I’m not mad.”

Their interaction died as Parker rotated, his legs dangling over the edge of his bed. He took a deep breath, gripping his sheets. A new day. He recalled what happened last night.

Get over her. That was his goal. Funnily enough, he felt more confident than ever that he could get through this. What a difference a night can make. He forced himself out of bed, stretching and yawning. He didn't feel fully there yet. He’d get up to speed as the day went on. Even if he spent his whole day tired, he didn't really care. There were many things he could do to relax and take it easy.

“Go grab some food and bring it back here.” Peni suggested after swallowing. “I'll wait for you to finish it this time.” She giggled.

He chuckled back, smiling. “Yeah, alright.” He stretched one more time. “I'll be back.” He said as he opened the entrance.

Shutting the door behind him, he was now alone. Instinctively, he turned to the left. He stared at Melody’s door blankly. A few seconds passed.

“...”

“Hm.” He smiled. Then, he turned and walked away.
