“Alright, it's time to eliminate someone.” Airy announced.
He sounded tired. More dead than usual, at least. Charlotte looked over, to where Scenty and Backpack’s teams were teleported to. She was only watching because there was a lack of other things to do.
“Good luck, Scenty!” Bassy positively cheered. Scenty’s whole team was smiling.
“Okay, the person I'm going to eliminate is going to go baaaackkkk.. riiiightttttt..” The text box entity disappeared. “Now.”
There was a dramatic pause, and all of Scenty’s team's smiles were gone. Then, Scenty put her hands on her eyes, fell to her knees, and began sobbing.
Backpack and Soda Bottle both stood up, pensively looking down at her. Charlotte turned her eyes away. She didn't care. Plus, the sounds of sobbing were annoying to her.
Her eyes accidentally made contact with Subway Seat. He noticed and waved at her with a large smile. She sighed silently, waving half-heartedly back at him.
“Watch out.” Airy warned briefly.
Charlotte looked up in the sky, where Airy usually dropped things in from. Sure enough, a gigantic tree trunk was zooming down from the sky.
It landed loudly, catching anyone who wasn't ready off guard. Charlotte wasn't phased. Soon after, a ton of water dumped into the trunk.
“Oh, so it's hollow.” Atom’s voice commented.
Charlotte flinched, unprepared. She didn't even know that the tiny guy was near her.
“Your next challenge..” Airy started. “Is to stay afloat in this pool of water.” Well, this was going to suck. While Charlotte didn't despise water, she would rather be soggy at home, where no else was around. “The first team to have a member sink to the bottom will be put up for elimination.” He explained.
Charlotte’s eyes immediately darted to Subway Seat, who seemed unalarmed by this challenge. She began running up to him.
“Three,”
Subway Seat stared at her with a nonchalant, tilted smile. Charlotte could hear Scenty, Backpack, and Soda Bottle shouting at Airy, but she blocked their noise out.
“Two,”
Charlotte, with stern brows, put her hand out. “Grab my hand.” She ordered quickly.
“One,”
He raised his brows. “Huh? Why?”
“Go..”
“AIRY!” Backpack’s voice shouted.
Suddenly, Charlotte was in the air. She shot her eyes down. She was above the pool of water. Her eyes shot up again, in search of Subway Seat. Fortunately, he wasn't too far away.
When her body hit the water, she immediately headed underwater, swimming as fast as she could towards Subway Seat’s sinking body. The water was lukewarm, surprisingly. And clear. Very, very clear.
Subway Seat, who still wasn't panicked, looked at her. She held out her hand for him, which—thank god—he took. His weight immediately began dragging Charlotte down. The change in density was so drastic, her mouth slipped ajar, and water poured into her throat. Goddamnit..!
Adrenaline suddenly kicking in, she turned her body upright and kicked her legs upwards as fast and powerfully as she could.
As she kicked upwards, she noticed that Backpack was underwater as well. He couldn't swim due to the cast on his leg.
