2 hours before earthquake

"good morning! i brought someone!" Aurelia sang walking up the stairs of the firehouse with Pongo.

"hey! there he is." Bobby smiled folding the omelette onto a plate.

"hey puppy." Chimney smiled at the Dalmatian as he and Hen greeted Pongo who was wagging his tail in excitement.

"are you sure it's okay he stays here for the day?" she asks letting go of his leash and sat down on a stool.

"of course it is. i have a bed for him in my office too." Bobby set a plate down in front of Aurelia and some orange juice.

"thanks."

"all right, Buckaroo. if you were not a member of the LAFD, this includes you too, Aurelia. what would you be doing?" Chimney asks watching Pongo walk to the girl.

"travel. even though i already did that." Aurelia took off Pongo's leash as he sat beside her resting his head on her lap.

"uh, i don't know. i'm not getting fired, am i?" Buck nervously asked.

"that's inevitable."

"he'd be a golden retriever." Hen held a laugh, her head following Buck whilst he walked to take a seat.

"no, a bartender. no, no, no, bouncer at a bar." Chimney quickly says changing his answer.

Buck ignored them sitting on the empty stool next t0 Aurelia, he had barely said a word since arriving to work which wasn't like him, "hey Pongo." Buck whispered petting the dog.

"you okay?" Aurelia nudged Buck with her foot.

"what's going on with you, kid?"

"just traffic sucks in this town unless you're driving ten tons of engine with sirens. it took me almost two hours to get from Abby's place to the call center downtown, then back over here. just told Maddie she needs to start Ubering." Buck explained, the traffic in L.A was terrible, especially at the airport which had Aurelia stressed the entire time.

"how's your sister settling in down there?" Bobby asks.

"well, she's a Buckley. practically running the place." a smile appeared on his face making Hen and Chimney walk away from the counter with their plates in their hands and Pongo following them.
