"oh, no. who gave that guy a clipboard?" Hen approached Buck and Eddie with Chimney and Aurelia who all arrived at the firehouse together.
"can i see that?" Aurelia asked her boyfriend finishing up her breakfast sandwich taking the clipboard from his hands.
"ah, don't worry. it's a kinder, gentler clipboard, as is the man who holds it. meet Buck 3.0." Buck turned to his friends quickly wrapping an arm around Aurelia's waist who about to sprint off carrying her back towards him.
"huh?" Aurelia furrowed her brows not even bothering to run off again leaning against Buck's chest.
"what, three? what happened to 2.0?" Hen laughed at her friend.
"two's leg was crushed by a ladder truck and his girlfriend left him." Chimney pointed out.
"still not sure what inspired the software update." Eddie says.
"i'm just ready to let go of the past." Buck smiled.
"your parents lied to you your entire life. and you're just gonna let that go? what's your secret?" Hen asked.
"therapy. as in my parents agreed to come to a few sessions with me, work our stuff out. look, they're trying. i figure i should try too. right?" Buck asks the four.
"they're also staying with us right now because hotel's are expensive." Aurelia added with a smile to her friends looking through Buck's clipboard.
"very mature, Buck." Hen smiled at him.
"very Buck 3.0."
"okay, i'm not calling you that." Hen says looking at the Buckley's partners, "are you two gonna be taking part in these family sessions too?"
"uh-uh. key word family, which i am not. technically." Chimney shook his finger.
"i'll be there for support after the session." Aurelia says resting her head back on Buck's shoulder.
"you're allowed to give yourself some time, you know. to process." Eddie leaned against the engine.
"i know. i'm just tired of looking behind me. i'm ready to start thinking about the future." Buck smiled looking down at Aurelia whose heart started to race.
future. marriage. the ring that was no longer sitting in Buck's nightstand and she had no idea where it was now.
Hen noticed Aurelia's sudden change of emotion and her eyes slightly widen looking between her and Buck knowing there was something going on.
