in the last few days, whenever Aurelia thought she had a chance to tell Buck someone or something always interrupted. first it was Sofia, Veronica and Knight, then they had an overnight shift which they rarely spoke and when they did the alarm blared around the station and immediately had to leave for a call. now, Aurelia stood in Buck's apartment with Eddie, Chris and Buck who invited them over for dinner.
Aurelia walked out of the bathroom throwing the towel into the hamper as she just finished bathing Pongo who decided to roll around in mud while on his walk.
"next time you're taking him on a walk." Aurelia jumped up on the counter as Buck opened a bottle of beer handing it to her.
"so i can bath him? no thanks." Buck laughed, Aurelia mocked his laugh taking a sip of the drink.
"so she shoots him and then takes him back?" Eddie joined the couple setting the plates in the sink as the three spoke about what had happened with Maddie a few days ago.
"yeah." Buck grabbed another bottle of beer handing it to Eddie.
"and i thought my marriage was complicated." Eddie started cleaning up, "how's your sister taking it?"
"it's, uh- it's kind of rough on her. you know, i think she thought she could save Tara from Vincent, but, you know, she's realizing that you can't save someone from themselves, not if they don't want it." Buck leaned against the counter where Aurelia was, as he stood between her legs.
"ain't that the truth?" Eddie says taking a sip of his drink.
"especially if you aren't around to see that they need saving." Buck took a look at Eddie, Aurelia watched the two quietly as her lips touched the bottle.
"look, i'm sorry i wasn't there, Eddie. you and Chris needed me, Aure needed me too, and i had my head so far up my own behind with that stupid lawsuit-" Buck stood up straight, Aurelia ran her hand over his back letting him know it was okay.
"we're way past that, Buck." Eddie shook his head at his best friend.
"i'm not. i should have been there. maybe i could have.. talked some sense into you," Buck looked away from Eddie turning to the redhead on the counter, "or stay with you more to know about the nightmares."
Eddie snorted at Buck quietly, "you talk sense into me? that'd've been interesting."
"i'd pay to watch that." Aurelia teased gently kicking Buck as he turned his head to her with a grin.
