the 118 arrived to the large home, grabbing everything they needed from the engine and ambulance making their way to the front door, Bobby was the first to the door ringing the doorbell announcing his and his teams arrival, "LAFD."
"dispatch said the patient was unconscious." Buck tilted his head towards Bobby.
"they also said it was a smart home." Bobby added.
the door opened by itself making Aurelia and Eddie step back with wide eyes.
"welcome, Los Angeles Fire Department."
"am i the only one really creeped out right now?" Hen asks her friends.
"no, i don't like this." Aurelia gripped Eddie's arm tightly, the boys all mumbled a 'no.' walking into the house and up the stairs.
the boys and Aurelia waited outside getting everything they needed for Hen and Chimney when Bobby radioed in, "bring up the gurney, guys."
"on it." Aurelia responded opening the ambulance doors reaching out for the gurney shutting the doors to the ambulance.
"now, who would wanna live like this? cameras and microphones everywhere, not knowing who's watching or listening." Eddie stared at the house, not looking away since he arrived.
"i hate to break it to you, Eddie, but if you got a computer or a smartphone, smart TV, smart anything, really, then anyone can spy on you." Buck explains to tell his best friend grabbing the other side of the gurney as he and Aurelia started walking back inside.
"now i'm thinking i shouldn't buy that fancy smart coffee maker i keep seeing commercials for." Eddie says earning two grins from Aure and Buck.
"hello, Eddie. here are some popular coffee makers. would you like to hear the reviews?"
all eyes moved to the screen attached to the wall, Aurelia snorted quickly covering her mouth looking at Eddie and the fear he had on his face.
"Lia, do not laugh." Eddie whispered.
"welcome to the future." Buck whispered as he and Aurelia started bringing the gurney up.
"why does it sound terrifying to me?" Eddie mumbled following the two up the stairs.

Buck woke up to Aurelia cuddled up into him, her head was resting on his bicep, her arms curled into her and legs tangled around his. the two were on the couch in the living room, another movie had started playing making Buck turn off the t.v, he checked the time on his phone seeing it was past midnight. Buck's free arm wrapped around Aurelia's waist pulling her closer as she continued to sleep. his fingers ran through her tangled hair as he admired her, a smile appeared on his face as she leaned into him more.
