Aurelia sat on the couch at home with Taylor, she continued to check her phone every few minutes waiting for Bobby to call or text to see if there was anything from Eddie but still nothing. Buck had gone over to Eddie's to watch Christopher, she wanted to go with him but she needed to be home to watch Ajax. Knight had gone to pick him up from school while Taylor stayed with Aurelia to keep her company. the front door opened and Ajax slowly set his bag down by the door seeing the two redhead's.
"Eddie's in the hospital, Buck went to his to talk to Christopher." Aurelia stood up, Ajax furrowed his brows walking towards her.
"hold on, the firefighter that was on the news was Eddie?" Ajax asked the three.
"two firefighters." Taylor adds.
"is Eddie gonna be okay? can we go see him?" Ajax dropped his bag.
"he's still in surgery, dad is gonna let me know when he's out." Aurelia stood up gently holding his arms.
"what about work? are you guys and Buck going to be okay?" Ajax looked at Aurelia and Knight.
the two looked at each other in silence but nodded their heads, "we're gonna be okay." Aurelia assured him, Ajax hugged her tightly resting his head on her shoulder.
Aurelia's phone rang as she pulled away pulling her phone out of her pocket seeing a text from Bobby.
daddy: Out of surgery. Doctors say it went well.
Aurelia sighed in relief wiping a tear off her cheek resting her cheek against Ajax's hair hugging him tightly, "he's okay."
the following day at work was filled with worry and everyone watching the news. Aurelia sat on the sofa in the firehouse with Buck standing behind her and Hen next to her, her leg was shaking up and down anxious with everything that's been happening. everyone stood around the t.v watching the news not taking their eyes away from it.
"the Southland remains in the grip of an apparent sniper who appears to be targeting firefighters and rescue personnel. and now it feels as if no open space is safe for the men and the women of the LAFD."
"this is something we haven't faced before. i know it's scary- the idea that someone is targeting us." Bobby says and all eyes moved to him, "we still have a job to do. we're just gonna have to do it a little differently now."
