Aurelia hadn't been able to sleep since the night of the tsunami. Bobby ended up staying the night with her. Sofia, Veronica and Knight took a day off work just to spend the day with the girl too. but tonight, she was home alone with Pongo not being able to sleep but not just from the pain in her body but from the fear she had experienced during the other day. she sniffled reaching for her phone checking the time only to see it was three in the morning.
she slowly stood up groaning in pain walking to the kitchen turning on a lamp and grabbing a mug from the cabinet turning on the tea kettle when a knock came from her door. Aurelia knew it couldn't be Sofia since she had a key. opening the door, Buck was standing there in his pajamas, his face scratched from the tsunami with a look of exhaustion on his face.
"Buck?"
"can i come in?" he asked.
it surprised her seeing him since they haven't really spoken in a few days since he told her to leave the hospital and after getting checked up in the medical tents they rarely spoke to each other either. Aurelia slowly distanced herself when Buck first started seeing Ali and after her breakup with Knight she thought it'd be better for her to move on if she kept away from him since all she could think about was Buck.
Buck loved being around Aurelia, so when he noticed her being distant he wondered why, he spent multiple nights thinking about it and why she wasn't around him as much. until he finally knew why.
stepping to the side, Aurelia watched Buck walk in as she closed the door locking it, "i wanted to check in on you. i haven't heard from you in a few days."
"i'm okay. a few cuts and bruises and a little sore." still avoiding eye contact with him she grabbed a mug filling it with hot water.
"good. good- well not good because the tsunami happened but good that you're okay-"
"Buck, what are you really doing here?" Aurelia grabbed a tea bag throwing it into the mug.
Buck approached her slowly turning her around so she could look at him. each time Aurelia looked into those blue eyes she fell more and more in love with him. just like how Buck fell in love with her brown eyes each time he looked at them.
"why are you ignoring me, Aure? this isn't us, we don't do that."
"i'm not ignoring you-"
"we both know that's a lie."
Aurelia hated talking about her feelings. that's why she always chose to distance herself. she hated that about herself, not being able to talk everything out with Buck when all she wanted was to tell him the truth. silence fell from Aurelia as she moved her head to the side looking out the window. Buck hated that she wouldn't look at him, he cared so much for Aurelia he'd do anything for her.
