"what do you mean he quit?" Aurelia stood up from her couch facing Eddie who leaned back into the cushions.
"Bobby went to see him at the hospital today, he said he could give him light duty and Buck didn't like that so he quit." Eddie informed Aurelia, a sigh left her lips placing her hands on her hips.
"he shut me out last night, i told him that he needs to focus on his health and give it a few more weeks and he told me to go home." Aurelia kicked her slippers sitting back on the couch, "i haven't really talked to him."
"still avoiding him?" Eddie asked, he'd been waiting for Buck and Aure to confess their feelings for each other in the last five months. he's surprised they haven't even said a word yet since a conversation he and Buck had a few weeks ago.
"is Aure acting weird?" Buck asked Eddie who was sitting on a stool.
"why would she be acting weird?" Eddie took a sip of his beer.
"i don't know. since our fight then when the accident happened- which yes i did get mad first and then she got mad at me. things have been weird with us, she hasn't talked about her break up with Knight and i know they're friends but isn't that weird?" Buck asked facing Eddie who looked confused.
"maybe it was hard for her to see you like that. it was for all of us."
"she stayed with me for weeks, took me to my physical therapy, stayed with me at the hospital when i had other surgeries. i know something's up but she's acting like it's all fine." Buck took a seat beside Eddie.
"why don't you talk to her?" Eddie asked.
"she barely says anything let alone looks at me. i miss when she'd smile at me without saying anything and did you know when she thinks her eyebrows get all small?" Buck felt his mind wander feeling himself smile.
Eddie laughed catching his attention making him look, "what?"
"you're in love with her." Eddie stated.
"so what if i am? i don't even have a chance with her-"
"Buck, yes you do. you two other than yourselves don't see it but everyone else does." Eddie sat up placing a hand on his shoulder.
Buck looked at his hands, his mind going straight to Aurelia again knowing Eddie was right.
"i'm not avoiding him i'm just- hiding my feelings and not looking at his face as much." Aurelia slid down her seat looking at Chris and Pongo who were asleep on the loveseat on the other side of her living room.
