Evan Buckley always cared for his captain's daughter. his feelings for her were always a mystery, at first he never thought about the excitement he felt whenever she was at the firehouse or when her name popped up on his phone. the more he spoke to her the more something started to change in his heart about her. when she had first came back, Buck couldn't believe that she was right there in front of him.
he missed being around her and noticing the small things. like when her hair is straightened and the humidity or the rain touches it, her curls come out instantly. the way she widens her eyes before bursting out laughing and her contagious laugh. and whenever Aurelia was upset about something she'd go quiet and he can notice that her big brown eyes change from light to dark.
when Buck had heard Aurelia's name over the radio he couldn't stop thinking about her. wondering if she was okay or not, she was one of the very few people that understood him, he didn't know what he would do if he had lost her.
"can i ask about Aurelia?" Ali asks leaning against a wall.
Eddie turned to Buck trying to hide his grin and continued to carefully walk down the hotel's hallway.
"she's uh, she's my best friend. she's pretty important to me." Buck replied pushing himself onto the wall carefully.
"sounded like it by the way you heard she was inside." Ali grabbed a small bottle of Vodka.
meanwhile, Aurelia and Hen were still trapped in the garage trying to break multiple pieces of concrete with an axe to get back to their team. Hen shouted falling back as Aurelia sat on the ground holding her arm tightly from the pain.
"shit." she sighed looking at Hen.
"does Bobby know you're down here?" Hen asked the girl.
shaking her head and removing her gloves tossing them aside, "i had to do more. i wanted to help more."
"Aurelia, you did help. you helped a ton of people outside, Bobby put you outside for a reason." Hen softly tells her, Aurelia looked at hen with tears in her eyes.
"i just wanted to show him that i can do this."
"and you did, sweet girl. you did."
Aurelia wiped a tear off her cheek, "i had to come in and save that little girl and her parents were so worried, i know what it's like to be scared and alone and worried all at once."
"you're strong, Aurelia. after everything you've been through, you become stronger everyday." Hen says giving her a sad but loving smile.
