"aha! it is a real thing." Chimney showed his phone to the 118 trying find a way to reverse their jinx, "okay, so we have to move our hands this kind of motion and ring the bells... nine times."
"nine in total or nine for each of us?" Buck asks.
"it's unclear. i think maybe we should all do it just to make sure we lift the curse completely." Chimney reads off his phone.
"well, is it actually a curse? i know we called it that, but technically, i think it's a jinx." Hen wonders what was actually happening.
"what's the difference?"
"well, i feel like a curse implies that a person put a hex on you and a jinx is more like a general angering of the gods." Hen explains.
"all right, i got it. here we go. how to appease the gods." Buck looked it up on his phone.
"okay, wait. so is a hex and a curse the same thing? Aurelia, what do your books say about that?" Chimney turned to the redhead who was half asleep.
"they're either romance books or books about dragons." Aurelia lifted her head from Buck's shoulder.
"she's right. she really loves dragons." Buck nodded his head.
"by that, you mean both are totally made up and not real? yes." Eddie opened his eyes.
"what more proof do you need, Eddie?" Chimney asks him, "we are trapped in a death box. thousands of volts of electricity coursing through every nook and cranny. any one of us could literally get fried like that." Chimney snapped his fingers.
"or we just don't touch any doors or windows until help arrives and nobody gets fried, with or without a curse or jinx, whatever." Bobby stepped in calming his team down.
Eddie laughed more sitting up in his seat, "do you guys not hear yourselves right now?"
"do you? it's like the universe is screaming at you and you refuse to listen." Buck argued with his best friend.
"the universe does not scream." Eddie pointed out.
"no, but Aurelia is about to scream in two seconds." Aurelia sat up in her seat staring out the window jumping back as electricity zapped from the power line.
"oh, they are clearly forces at work here, forces beyond my control and your control-"
"that's it." Eddie pointed back at Chimney, "that's the difference between you and i. i don't worry about things that i can't control."
