"i'm home!" Aurelia walked into the house shutting the door not seeing Buck or Pongo, "babe? Pongo?"
setting her keys on the table by the door, Aurelia looked all downstairs spotting Buck out in the backyard sitting on the sun chair. she went outside closing the back door approaching him taking a seat beside him.
"hey, how'd it go with Maddie?"
Buck turned his head to look at her, then looked away back at Pongo who was rolling around in the grass, "did you know?"
Aurelia furrowed her brows in confusion not knowing what he was talking about, hearing the hurt in his voice, "know what?"
"that i had a brother. that Maddie kept it from me and Chimney knew." his words shocked Aurelia, her jaw dropped hearing the news.
"wait, what?"
"at the first dinner before they got there you and Maddie were in the room and didn't say anything the entire night and last night you didn't even speak." Buck stood up pacing around the backyard.
Aurelia stood up staying in the same spot, "Buck, i didn't know. if i did i would've asked Maddie to tell you sooner because i know you'd be hurt by it."
"did you?" Aurelia's eyebrows frowned at Buck's words, he didn't believe her?
"okay, no," she walked over to him taking his hand, "you're upset, you're hurt. i understand that and i know it's hard right now and it's going to suck. just please try to talk to me instead of shutting me out."
Buck inhaled deeply, his eyes were already red and filled with tears, Aurelia frowned wrapping her arms around his shoulders pulling her towards him. Buck's arms immediately wrapped around her waist letting the tears fall onto her shoulder.
"i'm sorry." he mumbled into her shoulder.
"it's okay, don't apologize." Aurelia held him tighter rubbing his back, "come on, let's go put on a movie or we can talk about your brother."
Buck pulled away nodding his head, Aurelia gave him a small smile wiping the tears off his cheeks. the two plus Pongo made their way upstairs to their bedroom as Buck went straight into their bathroom. grabbing a few extra blankets from the closet, Aurelia started to lay the blankets on the bed noticing a small velvet box on Buck's nightstand behind the lamp.
being her usual nosey self and sitting up from her spot, Aurelia reached behind the lamp opening it up seeing a small dainty ring with a small diamond in the middle and three smaller ones on each side. a small gasp left her lips as she stared in awe at the ring, there was no way. was Buck holding the ring for somebody? or did Buck really want to marry Aurelia? they'd had been together for nearly two years already and had gone through so much together that it felt like less with everything going on.
