"Can't believe she gets to go on a dangerous mission, but not me!" Neji growled after a month of your last encounter with him.
"You are still upset about that? Look, you heard them; the chances of her coming back are awful. She took your place because she didn't want you to die," Naruto said.
"It doesn't matter! She had more authority over my missions, and now she takes one that could have made me stronger!" Neji growled.
"She wanted you to grow stronger and live. Even if I were to go, it would have been five percent successful. You may have a score to settle with her, but she cared about you enough -" Naruto paused.
"She doesn't know me or care about me. She just wanted the mission!" Neji growled, "To boost her ranking or her status. It should be out there and not some striper."
"Neji, you aren't being fair to her," Naruto said as Neji scoffed.
"I'm not being fair! She took my mission!" Neji growled, " You are supposed to be on my side!"
"I hate to say it, but I would prefer her to be gone than you. You know she isn't coming back, right?" Naruto asked.
"She's not?" Neji asked.
"She had a ten percent chance of success; it's a suicide mission," Naruto said as Neji scoffed.
He got away from Naruto, so he took off walking. He headed to the entrance of the village and sighed weakly.
"It should have been me!" Neji said, annoyed as you fell from a tree with a spear in your stomach.
"Y/n?" Neji asked, seeing you badly cut up, bruised, and bloody.
"Neji, I need you to do something for me," you gasped as Neji used his to dee you also had been poisoned.
"I need to take you to the hospital! If I don't, you will die," he said as you looked at him weakly.
"I'm already there; take this; it has the ninjas responsible for leaking ninja names. It also has the ninjas that they leaked. We had a lot of possible targets, but now we know. Take it to Kakashi. I locked it so it would be safe. He knows the code," you said as you pulled out the spear and gave him a metal scroll.
"What are you doing?!" Neji yelled as you pushed him out of the way and speared the man who was going to kill them both.
You stabbed him in the head, killing him instantly, and you smiled.
"Got you, you stab me first. I kill you!" You said as you passed out on the ground.
Neji quickly picked you up and took you to the hospital. Then he took the scroll to Kakashi.
"Who gave you this?" Kakashi asked as Neji sighed.
"Y/n did; she's in the hospital right now. I don't think she will make it," Neji said as Kakashi sighed weakly.
"I'll let her family know," Kakashi said softly.
Neji didn't think about the word family until he went to the hospital hours later after letting everyone else know that you came back seriously hurt. Neji heard the words code blue several times, but you always came back. But when your parents arrived with two small children, Neji first thought they were your kids because of how much they looked like you. An eight-year-old boy was sobbing, and a five-year-old boy was trying to get away from your parents to get to you. You needed surgery, but after hours, you pulled through and put in your room.
"Let me go!" The youngest boy screamed.
"Joel, you need to calm down. I know it's hard, but other people are here for worse reasons than we are. We need to show respect to those who lost people today. We could have been one of those families," your mother said softly as your little brother tried to stop fighting to get to you, but it was hard for him
