Tanjiro was worried sick about you and didn't want to leave your side even after you woke up. You told him how Tokito left you to fend for yourself, and you avoided him like the plague the entire time he was there. You refused to eat with him, and you went to the opposite side of the building to sleep. You never spoke to him even when he left. You didn't say goodbye.
Oddly enough, your actions spoke volumes to people, and it was starting to bother Tokito. He used you being around him and talking to him. You never stopped talking to trying to get him to say anything back. He would ignore you often and pretend he was listening to whatever it was you were talking about. He tried making it up to you, but his apologies turned into insults, which in return got him smacked across the face.
One apology that turned into an insult made you so angry you ran from him and started crying all because he said you would never be a good mother and you were a rather bad Hashira. He then tried giving you things you liked to make up for it but you threw them back in his face because he still didn't know what he did wrong. He thought he was right in leaving you to fight off a demon that you were capable of defeating, but you took a devastating hit that almost cost you your life. He flat-out told you you were stupid for taking hits for him and asked you why you did it. You never answered the why. You avoided it at all costs. You were protecting something he just wasn't sure what, but whatever it was, it meant a lot to you.
After he left, you and Tanjiro went to get him a new sword from the swordsman village. You weren't a hundred percent but good enough to travel. The other two were sent off to different missions. The way there was long and tiring, but once you were there, you ate with Tanjiro and his sister.
"Y/n, he's not that bad he just needs some time to how to express himself properly," he said as you rolled your eyes.
"Have you heard the way he talks down to me?" You asked, "I have done everything I could to make him feel like he belongs like he's a person like he has someone to come back to or to talk to but he doesn't want that at least not with me. You can be friends with him all you want but I'm done. He left me to die, and my crow will tell you for a fact he did. I'm just tired of it and not being valued as a person," you sighed as the door opened, and it was Tokito. You immediately stopped eating and quickly left without saying a word.
"Y/n? You haven't finished eating!" He said you went to your room and shut the door.
"Tokito, did you not help her when she asked for it?" Tanjiro asked.
A little while later, you decided to take a bath in the hot spring, and boy, did you need it. You were spiraling out of control. You were frustrated that you were so nice to Tokito all the time, and then he insulted you over and over again. It hurt you a lot, especially because you tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but now you know he never really cared about you at all. It hurt a lot, especially because you put in a lot of effort in trying to help him.
You were alone in the hot spring. Your back was riddled with scars from your past battles and trauma. You had a human bite mark on your shoulder that was now a scar and burn scars as well. All the insults Tokito had given you started to weigh on you heavily, and you now wanted to go home. It hurt you more than I thought it would, but maybe he was right about everything. Tears started to go well in your eyes, and you started crying. All you seemed to do was cry now because you felt so alone all the time, and you were stressed out. All you wanted to do was to talk to someone about it, and originally, you were going to finally tell Tokito why you became a demon slayer, but now you knew what he thought of you. It hurts worse than bottling up all your negative emotions. You were going to try to talk to Tanjiro about it, but you were afraid of the judgment that was heading your way.
