Amy's POV:

As we pull into Mikayla's parking spot I make sure to grab the Starbucks bag and our drinks before heading upstairs.

Mikayla apparently needed another jump start with coffee before heading into work so she made sure to stop at Starbucks before arriving to work.

Despite our stop this morning we still arrive to work with 35 minutes to spare before our first meeting at 0935.

As we walk off the elevator we notice people are still just now arriving to work or starting up their computers and just lightly chatting around.

"It seems as though we have made it here super early. This gives me time to check my emails and anything else on the calendar that's for today." I say as a matter of fact to Mikayla.

"I know this is great. I'm gonna head to my office and catch up on my emails as well. I'll come get you ten minutes  before our meeting." Mikayla responds.

"Perfect. See you then." I say to her, as I hand her her Starbucks bag.

Once I step into my office I take a seat and power on my Mac desktop.

I take this opportunity to quickly eat my vanilla bean scone and take a sip of my strawberry refresher.

As I am catching up on some emails I notice my tab of files that I completed the week of the Gala. I finished a good chunk of work ahead of time and have even finished this week's work load. But I take the time to review, edit and add a few things to the file. I also compose a new file with the numbers from the Gala on Friday that has been posted already. The charity event did extremely well and I even took the liberty of attaching a statistical model of what can occur if these charity gala's are held once a year moving forward. After including a few extra notes to the files I decided to compose an email to the top assistants, Mikayla, violet and Mr. Anderson all of the work I completed. This was an update but this would be my final update and so I figured it would be best they received everything all at once. This way whatever new assistant they hire to take my position they can pick up where I left off.

As if on cue Mikayla arrives and informs me that it's 15 minutes prior and we can start heading to the conference room for the meeting.

I smile at her and get up while grabbing my notepad, files and pens for the meeting.

We take notice when we see that Mr. Anderson and Caroline step off the elevator smiling and laughing at whatever had them intrigued.

He looks marvelous, refreshed even. As if nothing in the world can change his mind at this very moment.

I quickly look away and start to walk in the direction of the conference room.

Mikayla following me closely behind. I could sense she wanted to say something but decided against it.

As we take our seats in the conference room, I sense Mr. Anderson walk in. It also doesn't help to hear Caroline forcibly laughing at whatever comment he made.

This woman is insufferable. Is all I think as I made sure to organize my notepad, pens and whatever folders I needed for today's conference.

I quickly glance a look at her and can't help but feel him looking at me. I made sure to not look in his direction but simply looked away and caught the attention of Mikayla.

He infuriates me. How dare he act like he cares about me? About my past?

He clearly moved on quickly from his compassionate moment that I thought we shared on Friday evening at the Gala. How stupid of me to think he actually cared.
