Amy's POV:
As Mr. Anderson and I arrive to the table that Mia and Dr. Hayes are sitting on, I take notice that both of them are laughing hysterically and seem to be having a good time.
I almost feel as though Mr. Anderson and I have walked in on their date so to speak.
Mr. Anderson proceeds to cough as if to signal Dr. Hayes.
They both seem to calm down from their laugh and finally begin to take notice of us.
"Amelia, my apologies I didn't mean to steal your seat or your date for the night. Mia has been informing me here of the latest trends in the food department that I must try myself, if I can ever get away from the hospital." He finishes with a chuckle while beginning to stand up.
"Oh that's no problem Dr. Hayes, I'm sure Mia the foodie here can inform you of any of the latest trends within the culinary arts industry like the back of her hand. So I quite understand." I say to him with a kind smile.
"Liam. Please call me Liam. And I may absolutely take that offer up." He says to me with a smile before taking another look at Mia.
I start to look down and smile at their cute interaction.
"Thank you for keeping me company Liam. I trust you and Mr. Anderson still have to grab a bite to eat." She says ever so smoothly signaling she understands they must get going now.
"Actually, we were finished eating when we noticed you both across the room and we decided to come say hello. We're actually heading out to a club downtown as part of my welcome back, after my trip." He mentions to Mia while not taking his eyes off of her.
"Oh that's amazing well, welcome back and I hope you guys have a great time tonight." She responds.
"Thank you. I suppose you ladies are far too busy tonight to join us?" He questions taking a quick look at me just before proceeding to look back at Mia once more.
Mia begins to smile happily before answering.
"Oh we are absolutely more than capable of joining you tonight. Right Amy?" She says to me just as she proceeds to look at me.
I try visibly hard to contain my shocked expression while answering to Mia.
"Mia, I don't think these gentlemen were expecting to have company tonight. And I also don't think Mr. Anderson would be comfortable with his assistant coming along with him, nor is it appropriate." I say to her hoping she realizes this isn't gonna work.
"I don't mind you ladies accompanying us." Mr. Anderson speaks while looking at me, waiting to see if I can respond.
"See! Perfect! It seems as though we're all on the same page, then." Mia says while starting to gather her purse and get up from her seat.
"I have certain things to attend to tonight, so I most likely won't be able to attend. Mia if you'd like to go with Dr. Hayes, you're more than welcome to." I say her to with a sweet smile.
Her smile slowly starts to fade.
And I accidentally take a moment to look to my left to where Mr. Anderson is and his face resembles a questionable look almost as if to wonder what business I have to attend to tonight.
"Oh come on Amy, it's Saturday night. We haven't seen each other in ages. Let's just go out for a little!" Mia continues.
"Alright, one hour Mia." I say to her while narrowing my eyes letting her know that I am serious.
"One hour." Mia responds back to me with a devious smile.
"Okay, let me pay for our dinner so that we can head out." I say to Mia while looking around for the waiter.
"I took care of that already." Mr. Anderson responds.
My head snaps back to face him.
"Oh you shouldn't have. Please tell me how much I owe you so that I can pay you back." I say to him while grabbing my purse.
He chuckles.
"There will be no need for that Amelia. It was my pleasure. Now if you ladies are ready we can head downstairs to where my limo is waiting for us." He says to us, to which I catch Mia smiling from ear to ear.
I was about to open up my mouth to respond when I notice his face contorts into his usual expression from work when his response leaves no room for debate.
"Thank you." Is all I can muster as we all start to make our way to the elevator.
As we reach the bottom floor, I try to mention that I would meet them there after I went to get my car, but Mr. Anderson informed me that he already sent someone to take my car home.
With that, the four of us hopped into his limo. Dr. Hayes went in first and Mia followed suit afterwards to sit next to him on the left side of the limo. Mr. Anderson held the door open for me and as I was about to climb in the limo, he grabs my hand and helps me in. His action surprised me but I tried not to let him notice.
I take a seat and soon he closes the door behind him as he takes a seat next to me.
He's sitting fairly close to me that I can almost feel his body heat. It makes me nervous to be sitting this close to him.
I look up to find Mia and Liam engaged in their own world while clearly continuing their own conversation from previously.
I take a look at Mr. Anderson and notice him press a button beside him as he informs the driver to head to the club.
Before he releases the button I snap my head forward and brace myself for what the night will bring
I couldn't help but slightly feel like this looked like a date, despite the fact that it was far from it. Still I wonder if he felt this way too, although I quickly dismissed the notion.
