"Ms. Monroe." He said my name with such command.

Which left me confused whether it was a question or rather a statement.

"Follow me." He stated while walking away saying it more of a command and leaving me no chance to respond.

I couldn't help but turn to Mikayla to see what she said and the look on her face said it all.

She was mortified.

"Oh my god, do you think he heard us." She asked, quickly.

"I don't know." I mumbled. "But I have a feeling I'm about to find out." I said while beginning to walk with the folder in my arm.

"I'll find you later." She said as I walked out.

I began to walk a little faster to catch up to him since he was almost at his office.

Jeez he walks fast.

He walks into his office and I follow behind.

"Close the door behind you." He barks at me.

As I closed the door in front of me and making sure he couldn't quite well see my face, I couldn't help but close my eyes and brace myself for whatever came next.

Of course he heard, how dare you even remotely think that he didn't hear everything that you and Mikayla were just talking about.

My subconscious sneered at me.

I knew deep down he was right there and there was no way he couldn't have heard what we were just discussing.

I turned around and walked close enough to his desk yet still far enough to have my distance.

A safe zone...

Good idea.

"Take a seat Ms. Monroe." He stated in a harsh tone.

"Uh I think it's best if I stand... sir." I said, standing my ground.

"Sit" He commanded.

I stood.

Oh sure, add more gasoline to the fire AMY!

If I was about to get fired I'd like to have my dignity very well intact.

"Very well." He said. " I need you to follow Ms. Forbes around tomorrow for an event that she will be hosting for our enterprise. You will be alongside Violet our prep manager and also Mikayla whom I'm very sure you're quite familiar with already, therefore you should feel quite comfortable. Also, this would be a great way for you to jump into the scenery to familiarize yourself with one of the things that we do around here." He said.

He definitely knows about what Mikayla and I were discussing, but why is he not saying anything about it, let alone firing me.

"Okay." I stated eyeing him waiting for him to say something close to what I was thinking.

"That'll be all Ms. Monroe, you can continue with what you were doing." He refrained from saying more.

I began to retreat and walk towards the door and when I finally open the door he stops me by saying:

"She's not here for me just incase you know... you and Mikayla were wondering." He stated and I couldn't help but think that he said that with a smile on his lips.
