Amy's POV:

By the time he returned, the staff member had already cleared the breakfast table and I had managed to also take my medicine that Liam had prescribed me.

As he walks up to me his expression seems cold and his eyes seem distant as if something else is bothering him.

"It's your lucky day Ms. Monroe. There's an issue that I have to solve at one of the newest properties that I've just opened up. You'll be free to run your 'errands' alone today before I pick you up tonight. I've also informed Violet and Mikayla that they have the day off today so they can spend it with you. You'll have one of my drivers with you at all times today." His tone was off, clearly something huge was bothering him but he wasn't mentioning the issue.

"Thank you." Is all I respond in order to avoid causing him any more issues.

His expression changes from frustration to shock, although he covered it up pretty quickly and I'm assuming that it's because I'm not arguing with him like I normally do.

"He's downstairs if you're ready now."

"Okay. I'll head down there now." I respond to him as I grab my purse from my chair.

"I'll walk you down." He says to me as he walks into the living room to put on his jacket that completes his striking three piece suit set up.

I can't help but to stare in awe as his muscle flex while he's putting it on, and suddenly my cheeks are as hot as the summer heat in the middle of August. I have to look away and pretend to search for my phone in my purse.

I check the messages and notice I have three messages: one from Mia, Violet & Mikayla.

Girl's Group chat:

-Mikayla: since Mr. Anderson gave us the day off to be with Amy today let's all meet up at Isla & Co in Midtown at 11:30am
-Violet: I'll be there!
-Mia: Count me in!

I respond to the group chat letting them know that I'll be there as well.

By the time I put my phone away he's in front of me again.

As we walk side by side to the elevator I can't help but to feel that same tension between us. I wonder why he hasn't brought up the kiss. Is he expecting me to bring it up.

As we enter the elevator, I make the final decision to not bring it up. I'm going to simply act as if it didn't happen and move on with my life.

"Is there something bothering you Amelia?" He questions in an amused tone.

"I'm sorry you felt as though you had to take the day off today for my mess. I'm sure you're needed at the office." I respond back to him hoping he doesn't note the extreme disappointment in my voice.

"There's no need to apologize Amelia. I wanted to be away from the office today. My priority is making sure this situation with Julian is handled appropriately and as quickly as possible."

Right.... His only priority is Julian and handling the situation so it doesn't cause him anymore problems. That settles it. I'm definitely not bringing up that kiss and I will need to remember that there's no need to blur the lines any more.

The elevator doors open and we are instantly greeted by one of his drivers; who I coincidentally notice has a gun strapped to his hip.

As we step off of the elevator I try to pretend that I wasn't shocked by it.

Mr. Anderson turns to me and informs me that I'll be going with the driver whose name is Antonio. He's an older man but not to be mistaken for someone who is unhealthy for he is strikingly in extremely good shape with a medium height and a lean build. He also has a glare that lets me know he may not be into a friendly chat as he drives me around today.
