Saved By The One & Only

Feeling more confident

Amy's POV:

Astonished and yet upset by the fact that him and I are splashed all over the tabloids I still can't fathom as to how they captured us.

He's probably extremely upset over this. People are going to dig and try figure everything out about him, about me and my past.

I can almost feel the blood draining from my face.

This is probably why he was so upset yesterday.

I instantly start to shake my head just as Mikayla and Violet walk in. They also resemble the face of someone who's seen a ghost.

"Are you okay?" Mikayla and I both say in unison which causes us to almost chuckle.

"You first." I say to her.

"Cristina was fired." She blurts out just as her and Violet take a seat in front of my desk.

"No way!" I respond in utter shock. "I wonder if it has anything to do with what happened Saturday night."

"I'm sure it does but that's not all. Mr. Anderson called an emergency meeting in 10 minutes that's why we came to get you." Violet says to me clearly unnerved by this last minute meeting.

I nod my head just as I grab my notepad and pen.

We all walk towards the entrance of the conference room as all of the assistants begin to take their seats.

All of the assistants instantly become quiet as he walks in and takes his position at the head of the desk. As he sits down his eyes catch mine and I can tell that my being here caught him off guard.

He didn't even try to hide it, but clearly whatever he had to push out in this meeting took precedence and so he began.

It took every ounce within me to rip my eyes away from his but I did.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen. We have a few important issues that need to be discussed."

I pretend to write something on my notepad to avoid having to look at him just as he continues.

"First things first, we'll establish the fact that Cristina is no longer with us. Her position will be filled by none other than Mikayla. Violet will follow up in Mikayla's position and Charlie let's get a head start on finding a new applicant to fill in Violet's position."

I take a moment to draw my eyes to look over at Mikayla and I can sense her shock but she doesn't seem to react seeming as though it is not the time right now.

"We have one final Gala that has to be conducted before holidays take over as we start to slow down for the year before we pick back up again February. This is the time that we celebrate the openings of the new properties this year, the amount raised by our non profit this year and every accomplishment that the company has achieved. Because the last Gala performed extremely well, I will assign this task again to the previous group. They will dictate any and all planning from here on out." He finishes off sounding powerful and nothing but business at the moment.

Phew! If we weren't at work right now I'd probably melt with how hot he sounds giving commands.

The rest of the meeting flew by pretty smoothly as the senior board directors discussed this year's archives, the amount raised by the fundraiser. Finally, the allotted vacation time for the entire office was discussed as it was shown it will be between the last two weeks of December right before the final Christmas party for the company and that is when everyone will receive their end of year bonus.

Half way through Mr. Anderson had excused himself due to him having a meeting with a brand executive just as we all finished the rest of the topics.

Once everyone was dismissed we all went back to our offices to grab our purses for lunch. The meeting went on for most of the morning and suddenly it was time for lunch.
