"Hey are you ready for lunch?" Mikayla questions, peeking her head through the door.

I've engulfed myself with work today that I've barely checked the time or anything else as a matter of fact.

The emotions are still raw from last night, so I've decided to focus on something relatively worth caring about.

Such as work.

"Uh no, thank you though." I mutter while immediately directing my attention back to the computer screen as I finish inputting the paperwork to this database.

"Are you sure love? You didn't eat anything last night." Mikayla questions one last time, while giving me a small heart attack not realizing that she was still at the door.

"Yeah I'm alright I'll make sure to eat something later on." I say to her with a shy smile and hoping she would think I'm telling the truth.

To tell the truth I haven't been hungry at all since yesterday when I had the argument with Mia.

I remember in vivid details the argument and then it all blurs once I walked out of the door.

I remember Mikayla calling me and wondering if I'd be up to talk about her date but when I told her that my phone was dying she offered for us to meet up. After she picked me up and drove me to her apartment she noticed I was pretty quiet and that something was wrong. I tried to dissuade her that I wasn't feeling well and for her to continue with her story about her date, she wasn't buying it.

After explaining to her everything that happened I genuinely did feel better for talking about it and yet somehow I even felt worse. As if talking about what happened admitted that it really did happen and I hadn't made it all up.

She offered for me to stay, and I immediately declined but she didn't seem to accept the no. She honestly became some sort of guardian angel in my time of need.

I really do appreciate everything she is doing for me. She even offered for me to stay as long as possible.

She truly is an angel, and a true friend.

Which brings me back to the conversation I had with my mother and how I told her how I didn't think it would be such a great idea for her to come down as she planned.

I could hear the sadness in her voice after informing her of my request. She doesn't pester me to tell her what happened but before I knew it she immediately told me, " If she's a true friend Amelia, she'll realize what she's done to you and she'll come back to you."

That simple sentence rocked me to the core as I sat on the bed in the bedroom Mikayla let me stay in.

It took me a few seconds to process that my mother new the minute I phoned her that I had a problem, let alone with Mia.

After speaking with her about when she would come visit we settled on about a month, which in my mind I figured should give me enough time to find a place.

After speaking to my mother I made a mental note to try to keep in contact with her at least twice a week until she came simply because I missed her and I need more of our talks. Even if they were through the phone.

I hadn't noticed Mikayla come in until I noticed her put a tuna sandwich, with a bottle of water, including a bag of lays chips.

I look up to see I had passed these minutes with working while thinking about last night's issues.

I look up to greet her with gleam in her eyes while sitting on the chair in front of me while getting comfortable and popping a lays chip into her mouth as well.
