The Gala: Part 3

"I cannot believe you were just talking with Ian Montgomery!" Violet squeals in my ear coming up from behind me, while slightly making me jump.

"Oh my goodness! Where were you guys?! You guys left me to die over here!" I say to them with one hand on my hip.

"Well you were right behind us but when we turned around you weren't there we saw you talking to Mr. Anderson and then that she devil came into play interrupting your conversation with him." Mikayla states.

"Yeah she clearly's playing her role to the max this year trying to win him back." Violet says while absentmindedly looking through her clutch which reminds me that I have to check my phone.

*Mikayla scoffs* "Well the only thing I want to know is why all of a sudden she thinks now will make a difference." She says.

"Why are you guys so against them being together?" I couldn't help but question.

But what was that for because the look of shock that came across both of their faces said it all. As if to ask me "What did you just say" with one simple look.

"What?" I question to both of them. "I mean they're practically made for each other, he's always broody and very authoritative all the time and from what you guys told me they've already dated in the past. So I don't see what's the big issue anyways I mean it's not like he's interested in anyone else so why not." I said.

"She's just not right for him you know?" Mikayla says.

"Yeah I agree." Violet states.

"So what you guys think you're his cupid and it's up to you guys to find his one true love." I question with a hint of laughter behind it.

It wasn't long before we all burst into laughter at my comment.

"Anyways back to the important and the pressing matter, what did I miss with Leslie Rodriguez?" I question.

"Oh it went perfectly fine a really nice woman I tell ya. She said that on Monday her prep staff will e-mail us the key notes and PowerPoint which will break down the entire event for us." Mikayla said with such simplicity which only made me wish I had that ease to begin with.

"That's good." I state while continuing to look through my clutch for my phone, only to feel relieved when I am finally able to retrieve it.

I check my phone and couldn't help but smile at the text that I received from Mia.

Mia:

How's work? I hope you finish early because I seriously cannot wait to hear about my surprise.

Me:

That's right I completely forgot to tell you, Mr. Broody made me attend this gala with him tonight. So i'll be home a little later than expected but I will try to leave as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

I decide to look up to see if I am missing anything while texting Mia back only to assure myself that I am okay.

Another text from Mia.

Mia:

Whoa! Wait a second!! Did you just say gala??

Me:

Lol yes, now I have to go but I promise to tell you all about it later.

Mia:

Oh honey, you owe me big time. I'll be see you later ;)

I smile an all knowing smile, while putting my phone away, simply because knowing Mia, she will undoubtedly wait up for me just to hear the gossip.
