Saved By The One & Only

At Last

Just as I am staring at the gorgeous view in front of me and the lovely layout of the rooftop. I am escorted to where my table is.

As we are approaching to our table, I notice that Mia is already sitting there waiting for me. She notices we are approaching and she stands up looking amazing.

She is wearing an outstanding asymmetrical sand colored Maxi dress with a gold bangle on her arm, and she has a pair of stunning silver strapped heels. Her hair is cascading down in beach waves and to complement her dress her makeup is showcasing a phenomenal Smokey eye paired with the exact same color of the dress to match.

"Wow." We both say in unison just as we burst out into laughter.

I quickly thank the waiter for escorting me to my table. Mia and I quickly envelop in a hug before quickly sitting down.

Our official waiter is there and asking if we are ready for drinks to which we comply and I order a fruity Malibu drink to which Mia replies that she wants the same.

"At last. We are reunited." I say to her with a smile to which she smiles back.

"Like we've never left. And by the way you look absolutely amazing, May I add!" She says to me in response.

"Thank you & you look gorgeous as well!" I say to her in response.

20 minutes in and two drinks later, after having filled Mia in on everything that has happened; suddenly our laughter, from the debacle with Caroline and Christina situation, begins to subside and a sense of quietness fills the room.

Just then the waiter asks if we are ready to order to which we comply and we proceed to order our main course. Just as we order another drink, we both can feel the topic of the conversation shifting into that place of oh so seriousness conversation looming ahead.

"Okay, I think we should just jump right in, instead of us dragging the subject all night long. This way we'll be able to get over it and through it sooner rather than later." Mia says to me to which I simply nod my head in agreement too.

And so she does. She fills me in on everything; on how she met Julian again and how everything came to fruition.

She explained that it happened six months ago when she was in the west village searching for a new apartment that her and I may have been interested in when we were thinking about moving to the city. Apparently it had rent control and so she decided to check it out after work that day when she suddenly she ran into Julian. She said the exchange was awkward at first but she said he displayed himself to be a "changed" man and he immediately led with the story that it was all a mistake that night, and that he didn't mean for anything to have gone down the way it did. She said she was shocked he brought it up so abruptly but that she could see he was being extremely persistent with the situation and therefore, she must have assumed he was truly sorry for the situation that occurred. He asked her for her number for them to catch up and for him to prove to her that he was a changed man, she said she was hesitant at first but that she felt as though some people deserved second chances. She expressed that since she wasn't there that night she felt as though it was her fault she wasn't there and therefore, assumed her allowing him to text her was her way of being able to understand at what point she went wrong that night. According to Mia, as time had passed she felt as though they were enjoying each other's company. Although, the longer time had passed, without me knowing the truth, she was becoming extremely nervous as to how I would react. In the beginning it started with him mentioning me and when she would bring it up to me, that the two of them were dating, and she kept finding a way to push it off until that one day I walked into the apartment and I remember her hastily getting off of the phone quickly. I remember thinking it was weird but it turns out that was the first time Julian had threatened her that if she didn't tell me soon they were dating he himself would tell me. And so she did, once we had our wine night and shortly after she informed of the situation she said she couldn't control Julian coming up to me  and confronting me. She said she found it weird but she had figured it was because he was eager to apologize to me the way he had promised her he would once I found out they were dating.
