Amy's POV:

We reach the bottom of the steps and we are immediately bombarded by the other assistants in the office.

I quickly move away from the chaos and only then do I take a look at my surroundings.

Wow. Our vision has been brought to life and this Gala looks spectacular.

As I make my way towards the bar in need of another drink my arm is quickly caught by someone and only then do I realize who's holding my arm.

It's Him.

"We need to talk?" He says while staring intently in to my eyes.

"What you need to do is let go of my arm." I say to him with a harsh tone.

His eyes flicker between his hand on my arm and my eyes and his eyes seem to soften just before he let's go.

"Is Mia okay?" His question seems sincere,

"She's stable although I don't understand why you had me practically dragged here when I could've stayed at her bedside." I spit back.

He curses under his breath before narrowing his eyes and asking me to go somewhere more private.

"No. You wanted me here and now I am, so if you'll excuse me I have to work." I say to him and just as I am about to walk away he side steps in front of me.

I roll my eyes and cross my arms across my chest.

He huffs before grabbing my arm and leading me through the crowd.

"Hey!-" I try to protest but he cuts me off with one look that shuts me up immediately.

His grip on my arm isn't harmful but instead gentle yet stern enough to warn me that I'm not going anywhere.

"Why must you be so damn infuriating." He leans into my ear and mutters low enough for me to hear.

His voice sends shivers down my spine and turning my anger into dark desire for this man.

Ugh.. why?

If I wasn't insanely mad at him right now for being an ass and not letting me be at my best friend's side I wouldn't mind totally fawning over him but that can't happen either way.

"Mr. Anderson a word plea-"

"Not now." He replies curtly. I look back to see who tried to talk to him and it seems like one of the security guards.

I turn back to face him.

"It seems as though you're needed Mr. Anderson." I say.

"Don't try to be petty because it doesn't suit you." He spits back just as we reach a corridor which I'm assuming leads to the Women's bathroom.

He places me against the wall and places his right hand on the wall to my left and suddenly I feel caged in.

Oh no. I can't breathe.

I try to move back due to the close proximity except I run into the stone, cold wall behind me.

My eyes finally find his and he's watching me.... intently.

It seems ages have gone by before he speaks.

"I didn't allow you to stay there because I was informed that her former ex boyfriend was caught lurking around the hospital asking about you." He finishes while still eyeing me carefully.

My mouth dries at the realization that he's talking about Julian.

"I have to go. " I lean forward not realizing how close our faces  are to each other before he places his left hand on my sternum and slightly pushes me back against the wall.
