It's like gravity

Amy's POV:

I looked down at the floor before looking back up at him.

"I don't know. No one ever caught my interest. I think in part I was also just focused on getting my degree and getting ahead. I couldn't disappoint my mother knowing we had to take out a large amount of loans for me to be there and I felt as though getting into a relationship would just be a distraction for me." I finished although I couldn't maintain full eye contact with him the entire time, that I told him my story.

"No one caught your attention since you've graduated? I'm sure you must have caught the attention of many." His eyebrows furrowed at this question/statement and it made me question what it was that he was truly asking me.

Was he asking me if men hit on me?

"No. No one caught my attention. I don't think I've been approached that much. Mia had a couple of women who she considered close friends and whenever we went out to a bar or something, I was rarely approached. Although I didn't mind, most of them were always just after one thing and I would have  preferred if it was just Mia and I grabbing a drink."

I sure hoped that he was getting whatever he needed from this interrogation because I could feel the fatigue building in my body.

Silence.

"Who was the guy? And why college?" He asked in a low tone clearly understanding this is a sensitive topic for me.

"I wasn't interested in the same things that my other high school counterparts were at the time. I was busy working, helping my mother and just reading on the weekends. I didn't have time for relationships. And as for the guy we were friends in high school. Mia, Aiden and I would hang out occasionally. When we all went to college together our sophomore year in college he attempted to start a relationship with me." Again, I started to blush and was all too soon crumbling under the weight and the intensity of his stare. "It didn't last long. I just assumed I was the only one not in a relationship and figured that I needed to do the normal thing and get into a relationship. I didn't fall in love with him and I was getting ready to break it off with him when the incident occurred with Julian. I texted him shortly after that, that I couldn't see him anymore and that was the end of it."

Relieved that I finally got it all out I decided to grab my purse and stand up.

"Sit down Amelia we're not done." I was slowly lowering back into the seat before my brain had even registered what just happened.

"Did Julian try to get with you?" He asked me with an unreadable expression on his face.

"Yes. But I shot him down multiple times." I replied with my voice barely above a whisper.

"Describe his advances."

I looked away before I could respond.

"He asked me to sleep with him several times. Because he knew that he could 'show me a good time'." My voice was hoarse at the end of the sentence remembering the interactions I would have with him.

"That sick bastard." Is what caused me to look back at him.

He was standing this time and I noticed that he had one hand on his hip while the other hand was wiping away aggressively against his mouth. Shortly after he was running hands through his silky black hair while pacing the room back and forth.

"Did he ever approach you while you were with that so called Aiden?" He questioned while still pacing back and forth.

"Yes." I responded still trying to figure out where he was getting at with this.
