What Has Yet To Come

"I uhh" I struggled to talk, still confused at what just happened.

"Come on honey, spit it out?" Mikayla urged me on.

"Apparently Violet, you and I are attending the charity gala tonight." I stated while still trying to comprehend everything.

"NO WAY!" Mikayla beamed.

It was enough to snap me back to earth and stare at the human in front of me who was now pacing back and forth with a cheshire grin on her face while mumbling "what am I guna wear?"

"Well we also have a prep team as well" I stated and that right there was enough to stop her dead in her tracks.

She gawked at me as if she could not truly believe what came out of my mouth.

"Amy!!! Do you know what this means??" She questioned, while still beaming like a 3 year old with play dough in their hands.

"Uh no?" I stared at her blankly.

She rolled her eyes at me as if she couldn't believe that I honestly didn't know the answer to her question.

"Honey listen to me, his assistants do not attend his events EVER! And if they do it has only been Cristina because she's his right hand man." She said with such excitement in her eyes.

"Well I don't know about her but he said to make sure to inform you and Violet that we'll be receiving a prep team for tonight." I continued.

"Oh my god! Violet, I have to let her know!" She says while turning around to exit, but just before she reaches the door she turns to face me one more time and says: "Wait a minute, did you just say prep team??" She had that dangerous gleam in her eye as if someone had just unleashed the worlds most shopaholic.

"Yes." I said while dragging it out and looking at her dubiously.

"Oh my god! I don't know what you did to make this happen but I love you! And I knew from the moment I met you that you'd become a great asset to this team but never did I imagine this." She rushes to quickly hug me before she tries runs out to what I pretty much assume is to go inform Violet of the recent news.

Before she quickly runs out hopped up on excitement news I say to her:

"Wait, you still have to tell me what it is that you've been wanting to tell me since this morning, and I need to ask you something as well." I said to her hoping she would stay.

"Okay, I promise we'll talk and I'll answer whatever question you have but first I have to go tell Violet." She beams at me once last time before running out of my office.

I shake my head in laughter at her because I mean honestly what is the big deal.

I decide on finishing up what I had assigned for the day and made sure to quickly send a text to my mother expressing how excited I am that she's coming. I also decided on sending another quick text to Mia to make sure she knows what's going on, and how I'll be arriving later than expected and quickly apologizing for not being able to go with her food shopping today as we had planned.

A few minutes later I receive a text from my mother and from Mia.
