Amy's POV:
As I'm walking towards the dance floor the only thing I can think about is him.
As we step onto the dance floor multiple people begin to also fill the dance floor as well.
It's a slow song so Aiden and I decide to face each other.
"You look gorgeous tonight. And happy birthday by the way." Aiden says to me as he holds out his hand for me to take.
As I take his hand I can't help but to smile at the thought of him remembering my birthday.
"Thank you... for both." I say to him as we begin to sway.
"Do you remember that time in college when we snuck into my old job back at Mickey D's and I made you a meal at midnight just when your birthday struck?" He says to me with a cheeky smile attached.
My eyebrows knit in confusion as I think about the story he's referring too.
A small smile starts to creep my way as we keep dancing to the music.
"You mean the time when you 'attempted' to make me a meal. Because you cou—."
"Couldn't get the air fryer on." We both finish the sentence in unison as we both start to laugh at the memory.
"When will you ever let that go." He chuckles as slightly turns me around .
"I would say... never... that way I can remind you of it." I respond with back with a smile. We continued to dance in silence for a bit after he promised to make it up to me that way I would stop reminding him of his failure.
The song comes to a conclusion as we both separate and begin to walk back towards where everyone was located.
I noticed that Mr. Anderson was staring at us, to what seems like he may have watched us the entire time while we were dancing.
The mystery blonde is next to him once again except she's making conversation with a couple of men who are right next to them.
As we approach the bar Mikayla and Violet quickly come up to me as we go to the side where we're farther away from everyone.
As we reach the bar and order our drinks again Mikayla decides to fill me in on what she had to tell me earlier.
"I know this isn't the proper time to tell you this but it's better to tell you now. The blonde woman, her name is Genoveve McAlister, she was engaged to Mr. Anderson a few years back." Mikayla says to me with clear concern on her face.
My heart drops at this information.
"Why did they break it off back then?" I question in response.
"From what we heard it was due to the fact that he had a hard time processing the loss of his sister Peyton. Shortly after she called off the engagement and moved to Paris with her sister. Although we can't seem to understand what brought her back now." This time it is Violet the one who responds.
"Ladies." A voice interrupts our conversation.
It's Ian.
"May I borrow the birthday girl for a moment?." He says to us with a soft smile portraying at his lips.
The bartender informs us that the drinks are done and I grab mine as I follow suit behind.
Before I continue I do turn around to tell Mikayla and Violet that after I'm done with this conversation I would most likely be going home.
They wanted to interject but Ian grabbed my hand to guide me in the direction towards the terrace.
As we approached the terrace I take a sip of my drink preparing myself to hear whatever he has to tell me.
