Warning: Vivid depictions of violence in this chapter. You have been warned.Souta stares at Haruto, utterly bewildered. He's the spitting image of the man he killed not long ago as Haruto uses his ice magic to form several other blades made of ice around him. "So, the Resistance has some sort of aging magic? Well whatever, it's not like it's going to help you. It's just gonna make me feel a little less bad than if I had killed you when you were a little boy." He smirks.
Haruto doesn't say a word as he appears to fly right off the ground as he charges toward Souta. Souta smirks and dashes at him as well, their weapons slamming into one another in a contest of strength. Both of them push each other back and swing their weapons rapidly, clashing several times before Souta jumps away from Haruto suddenly.
"Try this!" Souta points his thin spear at Haruto and his liquid metal breaks apart, forming into several large spikes that all fly at Haruto. Haruto defends against all of them rather easily with the many ice blades swirling around him, deflecting each spike. However, Souta controls the metal to wrap around each sword and reform into spikes that reach out to pierce Haruto's skin.
Without even flinching, Haruto covers each spot the spikes are trying to pierce with thick ice, protecting his body and not receiving so much as a scratch. "Well, you're a pretty skilled one aren't you... A lot more skilled than your dad was, that's for sure."
Haruto doesn't fall for his provocation. Instead he expands the ice on his body, covering the Liquid Metal completely to hold it in place, if only for a moment. He then flies at Spurs once more. "How is an ice user able to fly like that..?" Souta watches Haruto with wonder.
Just like her brother, Gina too is able to fly, or at least that's how it appears. A trick they learned from Artemis rather than Riku was to gather their magic power at the bottom of their feet. This way, they could control their specific elements to be able to walk on air. Of course, not everybody can wield magic in this way, such as someone like Esen, but an elemental wielder has an unfair advantage when it comes to being able to learn this technique.
Gina continues fending off Aina and Kana's attacks with her crystal vines, parrying Kana's punches and kicks and deflecting any blasts of light from Aina. All the while her expression is blank. One would almost think she were bored, but she's just that focused on the fight.
One of Riku's teachings was to do their best to hide their emotions. While Riku himself wasn't very good at hiding his intent with fighting, it was something the two siblings picked up instantly. To hide your emotions during a fight meant hiding everything from your opponent; hiding your intentions, your power, and even fooling them into thinking they might have the upper hand, or thinking that you're struggling.
Aina picks up the speed of her blasts, and Kana does the same with her punches and kicks, both of them smirking. "You'll have to get tired eventually little girl. And I'll be ready when you do." Kana states as she punches away one of Gina's vines, cracking it.
Gina recalls the way her mother's neck sounded when it snapped. For a moment, her murderous intent slips out. The violent feeling coming from the once little girl that they had seen mere weeks ago makes Kana and Aina freeze in their tracks for just a moment. That one second is all Gina needs.
Haruto swings his blade, creating a spiky wall of ice that shoots forward to try and freeze over Souta. However, Souta's liquid metal becomes a solid cube that slams down between him and Haruto, stopping his ice in its tracks. "What's the matter? You don't feel like talking?!"
Haruto slams his palm against the ground and creates a massive pillar of ice in an instant, protecting himself as the liquid metal shifts and iron spikes form out of the side of the cube facing him. "You know, it's funny." Haruto's eyes go wide as he hears Souta behind him. He quickly jumps to the side but grunts as Souta's thin metal spear slashes his side. "Aina and Kana were paired up against your mom, and I was the one facing your dear old dad. The only difference this time is...there won't be any Riku coming to the rescue. After all, the king is going to kill him, and we're going to kill you."
