Minho had gathered his crew of Fry, Newt, Clint, and Jeff to lock you both in a room during dinner in hopes that an actual confession would be made.

One wasn't. Thomas still couldn't find the right words so he spoke about literally anything else.

After around an hour, nobody could take it anymore. It was uncomfortable for almost all parties and clearly wasn't going anywhere. While they argued about whether or not to wait though, Alby ended up finding you both and letting you out.

Now everyone was sat back, utter disappointment written on some of their faces as Thomas was still making those damn flower crowns.

You however, had something much different going on.

Greenie had been normal around you at first. He had been fairly nice and seemed like he would be easy to get along with.

The night time must have changed him though, as he was flirting with you instead of doing anything else. He had tried to dance with you, had given too many compliments, and was far too close.

You wanted to tell him to shuck off, but you didn't know how he would react. If it was with violence, that would be an awful way to end the night that had just barely started. While you didn't want to suck it up, you felt trapped.

As you thought you were going to explode with discomfort, your saving grace popped up out of nowhere, a lovely yellow, purple, and blue flower crown in his hands.

“There you are, Y/N. I’ve been waiting to give you this,”He loudly announced, shoving past the boy. Without looking back at him, he plopped it on your head, slightly adjusting it.

“These just keep getting prettier and prettier,”You complimented, your shoulders visibly relaxing in relief.

“Of course they are. I had an amazing teacher,”He complimented back, swinging his arm across your shoulder to really set the message in.

If it had been Greenie doing this (or basically anybody else), you would feel suffocated.

It's Thomas though. It's Thomas so instead you feel warm, safe, protected, and perfectly content with this small moment.

Greenie saw the way he was now old news, cast to the side in favor of Thomas. Nodding to himself at the fact, he stood up and left.

“What was that for?”You asked when he was out of earshot.

“You looked really uncomfortable with him, and I wanted to help. Get him off your back. You know what mean?”He said quickly. While his words weren't a total lie, they were also not the total truth.

There had been undeniable jealousy mixed with his concern for your comfort. If he had to see another second of that, he was sure he would have done more to Greenie than knock him to the ground.

“Oh,”You nodded.

“Yeah,”He shrugged, his arm still around you.

“Well, thank you. I appreciate it,”You promised.

“Of course. Anything for you,”He mumbled.

“What was that?”

“I said no problem,”He lied.

“Right. Well, the night is still young. Do you want to sit?”You offer.

“Yeah, yeah. Definitely,”He promised, swearing he was now on cloud nine. Those words were pure music to his ears. You wanted to sit with him alone? Had he been shucked and gone to heaven?

No. It was all very real.

With your flower crown on your head, a glass of moonshine in your hand, and Thomas’s arm around you, you found a nice, quiet spot near a log. You sat down, leaning against it. Thomas did the same, trying to ignore his heart threatening to beat out of his chest.

“The Glade’s stressful sometimes, but it can be so pretty,”You sighed, looking up at the stars.

“Yeah. It really is pretty,”He almost whispered, his eyes not leaving you.

“I’m gonna miss it a little when we leave. I’m excited, because we’ll have freedom and all that, but there's something about little moments like this that makes this place a home. You know?”You explain, turning to sneak a glimpse at him only for him to be shamelessly looking at you, admiring all of your features.

“Yeah. I do know,”He promised.

You found yourself gazing back at him, your heart starting to beat too fast the way his constantly was. As you did, you took in the little things about him. The light specks of gold in his caramel eyes. The little dimples on his cheeks. The light bit of rosiness in his face.

“Look at that. You have a flower in your hair,”You observed, leaning forward just slightly to get it out.

As you were right there, your lips mere inches away from his, he couldn't contain himself. If he didn't blurt it out, he was scared he would burst into flames right there.

“I love you.”

Time seemed to freeze as you stared at in disbelief. Your hands remained exactly where they were, in his hair, as your jaw almost dropped to the floor.

His heart sunk in disappointment. The silence spoke volumes to him, and the words were not exactly promising. A shameful blush spread across his face as pure embarrassment spread throughout his soul.

“I’m sorry. I didn't mean to say that-”
“Thomas, I feel the same way.”

“I mean I meant it, but I didn't mean for it to slip out. You were just so close, and you make me so nervous. It's not your fault, but it's-”
“Thomas, I love you too.”

“It's still true. I didn't want to mess anything up, and I just did, and I’m so sorry. I really am. I-”
Realizing he was too caught up in apologies to understand you, you grabbed the collar of his shirt and smash your lips against his. He yelped in surprise for a moment before going still as the words you just spoke registered in his head.

You love him too.

With a burst of confidence overcoming him at that information, he closed his eyes and gently kissed you back. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders as you deepened it. Your skin tingled from his touch as he moved his hands to your face, cupping your cheeks as he smiled into the kiss.

As you moved your heads at the same time the crown almost fell down. Seeming to have some magic instinct, he reached up and held it on your head while still kissing you.

Having spotted the scene, Fry loudly began clapping for the new couple. As everyone else noticed, they joined in, whooping and cheering in celebration. Even Greenie couldn't help but shout his congratulations.

Minho however stayed silent, his arms crossed over his chest. While leaning against a beam, he watched it unfold while wearing a sly smirk.

He was going to have a plan work one way or another, and if that meant making sure Greenie was a great actor so Thomas would feel some jealousy, then that's what he had to make happen.

Maybe now Thomas would shut up about you on his run.

Actually, nah. He’ll probably just yap about you even more now.
