In my entire life I've never let anyone see an inch of my arms, back, or legs. There's a good reason for that too. I was quite a rebel when I was younger, and WICKED didn't like that. So they punished me. When they found that their monsters didn't work they did something more simple but 'affective'.
Physical violence became their new thing on me. Now I have deep scars running down my entire body. They've faded, but they're still visible from a good distance away. So I'm always covered head to toe. Even in the hottest weather I'm in pants and long sleeves. It's not pleasant, but I've gotten used to it.
Sighing at the blistering heat but hating the alternative I threw off my short sleeved shirt from the night to find something that would cover up as much as possible. In nothing but a bra and shorts I dug through my trunk to find anything that could work. I grunted in frustration as everything seemed to be ripped, tattered, or dirty. In fact, I was so focused on my irritation I didn't hear someone walk in. At least, not until it was too late.
"Y/N?"I head Aris ask. I went completely still before throwing on a random article of clothing in my hand. It was an old brown shirt, covered in grass stains, but it was better than anything else. It was better than admitting that he has already seen them.
"What happened?"He asked quietly.
"Just get out Aris,"I sighed.
"Yeah, but-"
"Didn't you hear me? Get the hell out of my room,"I snapped. I didn't even have to turn around to know he was dumbfounded. In the entire time we've known each other, much less been together, we've never sounded so angry with one another. It wasn't even that I was mad at him, but I couldn't think clearly through my embarrassment. So much so that angry tears were threatening to leave my eyes which I subtly wiped away."Are you okay?"He asked, once again almost silently.
"I'm fine,"I said calmly. It was a complete and total lie though. I was a lot of things, and fine wasn't one of them.
"Okay. If you want to talk-"
"Please just get out,"I pleaded. After a minute I heard him leave, and I stood up to find something that could cover these. I can't risk another person seeing them. I can't risk another person seeing me differently.♡ Time Skip♡
I didn't speak much throughout the day as I focused strictly on my work. Sonya asked about it, but I brushed it off as being tired. She seemed to believe me, and we went on with the day.
Now I was sitting on my little cot and staring at the ceiling. Different thoughts swirled throughout my mind. If I knew Aris, which I definitely did, he'd be asking about them very soon.
After another minute of silence I heard someone knock on the makeshift door. I already knew who it was.
"You can come in Aris,"I said, admittedly sounding like a kicked puppy. He did so and took a seat on the edge of my cot.
"Do you need anything?"I asked, already knowing exactly what he was thinking.
"Not exactly. I was just thinking, and a few things make more sense now."
"Like what?"
"Like how you always wear long clothes and say you're cold. Or the way you jump anytime someone tugs on your sleeves to get your attention. Or why you're so persistent on being alone when you sleep."
"Yeah. You're right about all of those."
"What happened? Did someone hurt you?"
