Thomas's P.O.V

Filming The Maze Runner was genuinely the best thing I've ever gotten to do so I was more than thrilled for The Scorch Trials. Everyone was.

Except, for one person apparently. Everyone knew Y/N's name, but for all the wrong reasons. She's been known as one of the most arrogant and stuck up people in the industry. She's been called snobbish and down-right cruel. Usually, I wouldn't believe it, but the fact that she's late isn't exactly making her look good.

"Does anyone know where she is?"Wes asked. We all just looked at each other and shrugged. It's not like anyone had her number either.

A second later the door banged open. We all looked up to see Y/N looking completely panicked and disheveled. Bits of her Y/H/C hair strung over her face. She blew a piece out of her eyes and just stood there.

"I'm sorry. I called you ahead of time, but you didn't pick up,"She tried to tell Wes. So far I wasn't so sure I believed it.

"Never mind that. We need to get ready. We're behind schedule."

"I'm sorry,"She repeated, though her voice was rather monotone. Something tells me she would be hard to work with.

Thankfully, the rest of the day went on without a hitch. We still weren't where we were supposed to get to, but that wasn't exactly a surprise.

"Are you coming?"Dylan asked.
"Yeah. I just need to grab some stuff,"I explained.
"Alright. See you in a minute,"He shrugged, heading out.

I went to grab what I needed when I saw Wes pull Y/N to the side. Normally, I wouldn't exactly care, but I was actually pretty curious on what she's like when not many people are around. Listening for just one minute can't hurt, right?

"Your calls just came through. I sent you the proper schedule just a minute ago,"Wes told her, sounding apologetic.
"Thanks. I'll tell you if it doesn't come through again,"She shrugged, her voice still monotone. Is that just how she naturally sounds?

"I should get going. I'll be here on time tomorrow,"She said, walking off. She turned a corner, and I was caught red handed.

"Hey Thomas. You might want to work on your sleuthing skills,"She joked, I think?

She must have noticed my slightly confused face because she assured she was.

"Uh, sorry,"I said, my tone saying everything otherwise.

"Don't worry about it. We haven't officially met, but I'm Y/N,"She introduced, holding out her hand.
"Right. I'm Thomas,"I played along.
"It's great to meet you Thomas. I must say that you look rather familiar,"She joked.

"You're not what I expected,"I absentmindedly admitted.
"What do you mean? Were you expecting an arrogant, stuck-up, snobbish, down-right cruel, brat?"She asked. I felt my face go completely red.

"I may not seem like it, but I'm great at reading people. You don't seriously think I didn't know you all believed the rumors, did you?"

"I'm sorry,"I said again.
"I know. Assumptions aren't very good, you know?"
"I have that figured out. Maybe I can make it up to you."I offered.
"How exactly are you going to do that?"She questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Let me take you out to lunch. On me,"I clarified.

She looked at me with a blank expression. For a second I thought she just wasn't going to answer.

"That sounds good. I'll see you tomorrow then,"She said, walking off.

"Right. See you tomorrow Y/N,"I called as she left. She just looked back and shot me a small smile.

I don't like the fact that I made assumptions about her, but I do like the outcome.
