Gally's P.O.V
"Oh, please. I do not fall in love,"I scoffed as Aris tried to suggest that I have feelings for Y/N.
"You do realize that we're truly safe now, right?"He asked, for some reason appearing to pull the conversation into a brand new direction.
"Yeah,"I shrugged, having a feeling he was going to tie this back to Y/N.
"And we no longer have to fight for our lives,"He added.
"I know all of this. What's your point?"
"The point is that we're safe now. That means we can focus on normal things. Things like falling in love."
"Yeah? Well, I don't do love,"I defended, leaning against the log behind me. For some reason this shank wasn't getting it.
"Really?"He asked in a tone that made me suspicious.
"Yes,"I repeated firmer, doing my best to mask my irritation.
"Okay. If you're sure. Y/N! Hey Y/N!"He called.
"What are you doing?"I asked.
"I'm calling her over. Unless you have a problem with that?"
"No, but-"
"Great. Hey Y/N!"He yelled louder. She heard him this time as she turned around and smiled. I watched as she started walking towards us.
"Tell her to go away,"I whispered yelled. He just shrugged.
"Hey guys. What's up?"She greeted, taking a seat beside me. I ignored the way my heart started racing out of nowhere. What the hell is happening?
"Do you guys need something?"She asked kindly. Not politely. Not civilly. Kindly. Just like her.
No. I refuse to think like that about anyone.
"Nothing. We just figured we would invite you over and see if you wanted to hang out. Right, Gally?"He asked, drawing attention to me.
"Uh huh,"I nodded, losing the ability to speak full sentences.
"That's nice of you, but I promised Thomas I'd hang out with him for the night. Maybe I'll join you later though."
"Thomas?"I asked, regaining my senses.
"Yeah. I hate to tell you this, but he hasn't been Greenie for quite some time. Anyways, I'll see you later,"She replied, walking off and probably back to Thomas.
"Seriously? Why is she hanging out with Thomas?"I asked, caring more than I was willing to admit to anyone, especially myself. That would mean I have some kind of . . . feelings for her.
"You're jealous, aren't you?"Aris asked, getting straight to the point I was avoiding for a good reason.
"Oh no. This is awful,"I mumbled to myself. Now that I had admitted it out loud it only felt more real, more true.
"How come?"Aris asked, still oblivious to why this was one of the worst things in the world.
"What do you mean why? She's always been so nice to everyone, and I have definitely not been that. Plus, I'm such a mess when it comes to feelings, especially love. I wouldn't even know how to act around her,"I pointed out.
"You act like yourself,"He stated like it was that simple. I wish it was.
"Easy for you to say. You're fine with this kind of stuff. I absolutely despise it,"I pointed out.
"Listen to me. Love isn't something you learn. Maybe you need to figure out how to show it, but you already know what it is. Right now it's clear you're in love. That leaves you with two options."
"Which are?"I asked, not sure I truly wanted to know. Still, whatever advice he had would be better than whatever my mind was capable of coming up with.
"You can sit back like a coward and watch someone else date her because you know somebody will. You can spend the rest of your life wondering if she felt the same or you could take the risk. It's your choice Gally."
"Then, why is it so hard to make?"I mumbled.
"I didn't say it was easy. I am saying that if you follow your heart it may just lead you to Y/N."
