"I think I'm dying,"I groaned, fanning myself with my hands. Today was one of the hottest yet, and that's saying something. Now that lunch is here I am more than willing to accept a break.

"No. You look like you're breathing pretty well,"Aris shrugged.

"Just give me my water,"I requested, holding my hand out. He tossed it to me, and I instantly chugged almost all of it.

"Thanks Aris. You're the best,"I threw in when I was done.

"You say that to a lot of people here,"He remarked.

"Say what?"I asked, confused at what he was referring to.

"You tell a lot of people that they're the best. Who would you say is though?"He asked, though his responses were only confusing me more.

"I have no clue what you're asking,"I admitted.

"Who would you say is your favorite person here?"He clarified.

"Oh. Well, everyone's pretty great. I don't actually think that I really have a favorite."

"But surely there's some people you like more than others?"

"I mean yeah. I've known some people longer, have hung out with them more, have more in common with them. Those play a big factor,"I listed.

"Yeah. Kind of like Gally,"He added.

I turned my face away from Aris the second I heard Gally's name because I knew I was blushing. I'm not usually one to get flustered, and even though I hide it well, being around Gally makes me feel kind of giddy. It takes everything inside me not to blurt out how I feel. Obviously, I do a great job. After all, he can still talk to me without looking at me like I'm a weirdo.

"Yeah. Sure,"I mumbled.

"You guys probably have a lot in common. Why don't you hang out more?"He interegated.

"I don't know. I guess I've just been busy so I haven't really had time,"I explained.

"So if you had time you would?"

I just nodded my head as I internally asked why he was throwing so many questions about Gally at me. Unless, he somehow knew? That's impossible though. Only a single person knows, and they haven't told anyone. I'm also hiding it really well. It has to be a coincidence.

Aris's P.O.V

While meddling in people's love lives is usually unethical I could not spend one more second watching them hide their feelings. To be honest it was getting kind of painful just to watch.

"Hey Frypan. Do you have a minute?"I asked, catching up to him.

"Yeah. What's up?"

"Y/N and Gally-"
"I know. It's almost painful,"He stated before I could even finish. Seeing as he agrees it's probably best to do something about it.

"Okay. Just hear me out. What if we just played matchmaker?"I suggested.

"You mean get involved with their personal lives?"He clarified.

"Just a little, but-"
"I'm in,"He agreed. That was easier than I thought. The hard part will be actually finding a plan that would work. I guess we better start now then.

Your P.O.V

"Hey Y/N,"Aris greeted.

"Hey Aris. Did you need something?"I asked, setting my shovel down.

"Kind of. Do you know that one super peaceful and isolated spot near the edge of the Safe Haven?"He questioned.

"Yes. Why?"I asked, wondering why that would matter.

"You need to go there,"He vaguely explained.

"Okay. Why though?"I repeated.

"You'll see. Just go there. You won't regret it,"He promised. While this is definitely strange it's not like he's some kind of ax-murdeder. What's the worst that could possibly happen?

"If you say so. I'll see you later Aris."

"Right. See you,"He replied before going off to who knows where. He's a great friend, but he's so weird sometimes. Right now is a pretty valid example.

♡ Time Skip♡

I was admittedly a little out of breath when I got there. It's sort of a long walk so whatever is here better be important. If it's not I swear I'm going to kill him.

"Y/N?"Somebody asked. I turned to see Gally standing there with a surprised look on his face. I ignored the way my heart started racing in my chest.

"Hey. What are you doing here?"I asked, trying to play it cool.

"Frypan said to go here so yeah,"He explained.

I am going to strangle him. Why would he make it so I'm alone with Gally when he knows how I feel?

Unless, this was some kind of set up. That would mean Aris was in on it.

"I guess they were just messing with us so we should get back,"I suggested, not wanting to be alone with him. If I start talking I don't think I'd be able to keep my mouth shut. I'd like to avoid letting my feelings slip out.

"Yeah. That's a good idea,"He agreed.

"Oh, come on,"Somebody groaned. I turned to see both Aris and Frypan standing there with annoyed expressions. "It's really simple. It'll take less than a second to say,"They complained. I threw a look to tell them to shut up, but that only seemed to make them more determined to finish whatever this is.

"Y/N told me she likes you which is why she uses Thomas as an excuse to avoid being around you,"Frypan blurted, pointing at Gally. If looks could kill he would be six feet under.

"And Gally told me he likes and got jealous of the way you kept hanging out with Thomas instead of him,"Aris spilled out. There was an innetevable, uncomfortable silence in the air.

"Well? Do you guys seriously have nothing to say?"He asked in an almost begging voice. The fact that nobody spoke was the answer.

"This is hopeless. Everything is placed out. All you have to do is admit you like each other,"He repeated.

"Uh, hey Gally,"I sort of greeted, dying a little on the inside.

"Hey,"He said back, also looking like he wanted to crawl into a hole.

"I have some shocking information that you'll in no way expect, but I like you,"I finally confessed.

"I really like you too. Do you maybe want to hang out sometime? Just the two of us?"

"Yeah. I'd like that,"I admitted.

Even though Frypan gave me the advice of following my heart it was clear I wasn't really going to do that. So even though my friends stuck their nose in my life I guess I'm kind of glad I have them. After all, it landed me with Gally. What else could I ask for?
