Céline walks into her D.A.D.A class and looks around to find Daphne in the corner with Tracey.
"I think I'm leaning more towards stupid." Daphne shakes her head to Céline with an amused grin on her face. "You've only been here for a day and you already got onto Malfoys bad side. Really bad side, seeing that you even talk with the enemy." She looks over to the trio on the other side of the room.
Céline glances at Harry and his friends and turns back to Daphne sighing. "How is Draco anyways? Does anyone know?"
"Draco? Since when have you been chummy with Draco calling him by his first name?" Pansy spat as she walked over to them, arms crossed. "He's Malfoy to you." She sneered at Céline.
"Okay, well, how is Malfoy?" Céline resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"Poor Draco has a broken arm because of that horrid beast. He should be coming to class soon." Pansy said. She then narrowed her eyes and stepped very close to Céline. "But why would a filthy blood-traitor care to know about Draco's wellbeing. As I recall correctly, you were too busy flirting with that disgusting half-blood golden boy." She said in a low whisper before walking away
Céline stood there stunned at Pansy's words. She's always disliked that word. She heard it enough from her own parents whether it was directly to her or when they talked about other families. She looked down, turning back towards Daphne and Tracey.
Daphne only patted her shoulder, but the two girls didn't say anything to Céline. They couldn't. They knew Malfoy and the last thing they wanted was to be on his bad side.
Draco finally arrives at class in an arm sling, quickly being surrounded by Pansy, Crabbe and Goyle and a few other Slytherin students who ask questions of the attack.
Shortly after Professor Lupin starts his classes by having them look at a large cabinet that shook. "Can anyone tell me what we're looking at?" He asked.
"It's a boggart." One Gryffindor boy said timidly.
"Very good Mr. Thomas. Can anyone tell me what a boggart looks like?" He asked the class.
"No one knows." Hermione spoke this time, "Boggarts are shape-shifters. They take the shape of something that the person they're facing fears the most."
"And that's what makes them so terrifying." Professor Lupin finished. "Luckily there is something for this kind of creature. Let's practice it now. Please repeat after me. Without wands if you will. Ridikulus."
The class repeated it a couple of times. Before he had all the students lined up. Céline was behind one of the last Gryffindor students. She heard the other Slytherin students shuffle behind her.
She felt eyes staring at the back of her neck. So she looked over her shoulder to see that Draco had stood behind her. She faced the front again to focus on the lesson.
"Now I want everyone to try and think of something they fear the most in the world. Then, think of something that would be silly for that fear to change into."
'Something I fear most in the world...' Céline thought to herself. Trying to think of something she fears, but before she was able to, she was distracted by the cabinet in front.
She heard a click and the cabinet was opened revealing a man in all black flowing robes, black shoulder length hair, a long nose and a stern expression. She heard other students snicker 'Longbottom is afraid of Professor Snape', while some seem to nod in understanding. Then the man changed into old women's clothing and everyone started to laugh.
More students faced the boggart, Ron faced the boggart only for it to change to his apparent fear of spiders. Changing it into a spider with roller skates. Another girl had a fear of snakes, only for her to change it into a giant jack-in-the-box. Everyone was laughing and cheering for the students. The clown one, Céline only shivered at it. She found clowns less funny, more creepy.
Then it was Harry's turn, he was laughing and smiling and he approached the bouncing clown figure. But quickly paled as it transformed into a dementor. Céline let a small gasp escape her lips, as she took a couple steps back into Draco without realizing.
"Watch it." Draco hissed near her head as he nudged her with his good arm. Céline quickly apologized over her shoulder, but returned her gaze to the dementor in front of Harry. He was frozen in fear as the boggart/dementor started approaching, before Professor Lupin quickly jumped in. That made the boggart transform into the moon, he casted the incantation and the boggart turned into a balloon flying through the air as it releases the air inside of it back into the cabinet where the professor locks the door closed again.
"I think that is going to be enough for one day, please read the chapter on boggarts before our next class. You're dismissed." He dismisses everyone. Céline goes to the corner where her bag was and walks out of the class. Pulling out her schedule to see what her next class would be, 'Divination'.
All of a sudden she felt herself being yanked into an empty classroom. Céline spun around to see who had grabbed her, only to see Draco glaring down at her.
She sighed, "Can I help you?" as she puts her schedule back into the pocket of her robe. She looks back up at him with her arms crossed. "You know if you keep pulling at my arm like that, it's going to leave a bruise." He looks down to her arm for a second before reverting his gray eyes back to her emerald green.
"Do you know who you've been speaking to so brazenly, Everhart?" he spat. "Just wait until my father hears about you. Trying to humiliate me in front of our class with your insults. Calling me childish and arrogant."
"Are you not both?" she interrupted with an indifferent expression. "Go ahead and tell your father, but I truly believe he will not be able to do anything. I've heard that you always go to your father about every little thing you're unsatisfied about. So, please go ahead. Do you believe I'm scared of your father--" Before she can finish the question, she's pushed against the wall by Draco. Her face paled by his actions.
"How dare you?" he glowered at her, "You have no right to speak to me like that. You're nothing but a blood-traitor. I see you trying to be friendly with those Gryffindors, especially the Harry Potter." he made a face of disgust.
"Again," Céline continued after gaining her composure, "who are you? Why would I be afraid of you or your father? There are other things I'm more afraid of, than a boy my age." She pushes him away and straightens her robes. "If there's nothing else, I will go or I'll be late to divination. See you later Dra- Malfoy." Céline leaves through the door, leaving Draco behind seething with anger.
He's never met anyone so insufferable as her; it's only been a day. Most people listen to him and the things he commands, because they know what could happen if he's offended. If she was any of the boys talking back, he would have punished her.
But Céline is a girl and he does not hit girls. His mother would be angry and disappointed in him if she were to find out he hit a girl. She taught him better than that.
At first he thought Céline was amusing, seeing how she pretended to not understand English on the train just because of Pansy's comment. Draco understood everything she said in French. He saw her smirks when someone said something funny in the compartment during the ride.
And then when he heard who she was and she was sorted into Slytherin he felt like it would be a beneficial addition to his group. He knew the Everhart were just like his family in terms of belief. But when he saw her speaking with Harry Potter and smiling.
He gave her the benefit of the doubt and helped by pulling her away from that filthy half blood. But what he got in return was being told off by her. And then again during class, calling him childish. He hates being called that. He will be sending a letter to his father about her and that horrid creature that attacked him today.
