"Right, I think we should start practicing." Said Harry to everyone.
"What are we learning?" Céline asked excitedly.
"Well, I was thinking one of the first things we should learn is Expelliarmus, the Disarming Charm. I know it's pretty basic, but I found it useful—"
"Oh please," said Zachariah Smith, rolling his eyes. "I don't think Expelliarmus is really going to help us against You-Know-Who, don't you?"
"I've used it against him.." harry said quietly. "It's what saved me last June."
Zachariah opened his mouth stupidly, while the rest of the room grew very quiet.
"But if you think you're too for it, then by all means, you can leave." Harry said.
Zachariah, or anyone else for that matter, moved from their seat.
"Right," he said, "I think we should all get into pairs and practice."
Everyone immediately got up and found their pairs, Céline looked around and saw everyone pair up, except Neville.
"You can pair up with me." Said Harry to Neville, but Céline walked over to them with a smile.
"That's alright, Harry. I don't have a partner yet. Neville and I can practice together, right?" She said looking at Neville, who avoided eye contact with her. She looked at him and then at Harry confused.
"He feels bad about elbowing you in the face the other day." Harry whispered to her. She nodded slowly in acknowledgment and walked over to stand in parallel to Neville, taking her wand out.
"You ready Nev." she said smiling. His eyes grew at the sudden nickname, and took out his wand.
"Right, if everyone's ready —One, two, three—"
In that moment everyone filled the room with shouts of "Expelliarmus!" Wands flew in all different directions, while missed spells hit books on the shelves, sending them flying into the air.
Céline was too quick for Neville and sent his wand flying to the top of a bookcase. She smiled at him still. "Just take that and call it even for the other day." She said lightly. She pointed her wand to his and used the Summoning charm on it to retrieve it. She walked over and handed it to him.
"R-right. Look, I'm really sorry-" he started, but was cut off.
"No, you don't need to apologize. I know you didn't mean to. Look," she said pointing to her cheek, "it didn't even leave a mark, you're fine. Come let's try again." Céline walked back to make distance between them.
They put their wand up again, and at the same time shouted "Expelliarmus!", but this time Neville got the upper hand and was able to disarm Céline. Her wand flung through the air.
"I DID IT!" Neville shout happily. "I've never been able to do it, but I did it!"
"Great job, Neville!" Céline beamed at him. Céline turned to retrieve her wand and then continued with Neville.
Harry blew the whistle he hand in his hand, and everyone immediately stopped to look at him.
"That wasn't bad, I say we do this again, same time next week?" He said to everyone.
"Sooner!" Dean shouted eagerly.
"We have to think about quidditch practice!" Angelina said.
"How about same time on Wednesday. Then we can discuss any additional meetings." Harry said. Everyone murmured in agreement. He pulled out his map and started letting everyone out in groups of three and four.
