Chasing Shadows || Draco Malfoy x OC

Year 6- Ch. 182

A few days have gone by, but Draco hadn't been wandering off to the seven floor, since the day Céline found him leaving the Room of Requirement. It seemed to her that he might be suspicious that she might have followed him. Now the day has arrived for the first day of Apparitions lessons to begin. They were set to be done on Saturdays for an hour, so that they didn't interfere with their lessons during the week. 

Céline walked into the Great Hall with a very excited Daphne and Tracey, when they walked in all the tables had disappeared, leaving it to be an enormous open space. At the front, where the teachers normal sat, stood Professor McGonagall, Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, and Professor Snap, the four Head of House. With them stood a smaller looking wizard. Céline assumed that must be the Apparition's instructor. He looks oddly pale, his hair wispy, as if he were one Apparition away from becoming a ghost. She wondered if thats what happens after Apparating for so long. She shuddered at the thought. 

Céline looked around and saw many of her years classmates from all the houses here, immediately she found Harry and Hermione standing by each other, and Ron not too far from them, but with Lavender. She saw Draco having a hushed conversation with Crabbe. She was curious to what they were talking about, but Daphne pulled her attention away from them and back to her.

Once all the students that signed up arrived, the small wizard took a step forward, clearing his throat. "Good morning, my name is Wilkie Twycross. I will be your Ministry Apparition instructor for the next twelve weeks. I hope that in that time, I am able to prepare you all for your Apparitions Tests--"

"Malfoy, be quiet and pay attention." Professor McGonagall said sharply. Céline's eyes shifted to Draco, who looked a little flushed, as he moved away from Crabbe. Her eyes then moved to Harry who was staring at them and then to Snape who looked a little annoyed.

"--by which time, many of you would be ready to take your tests." Twycross continued as though he was never interrupted in the first place. "As many of you know, it is usually impossible to Apparate or Disapparate from within Hogwarts. The headmaster has momentarily lifted that, only within the Great Hall, for one hour, so that you are able to practice. I would advise you that it would not be wise to try and Disaparate outside of this Hall. I would like all of you to know place yourselves, so that you have a clear five feet of space in front of you."

The students scrambled around trying to position themselves as they were told, some bumping into each other, while others starting some arguments of being in their space. Céline moved herself towards the back with Daphne and Tracey not too far from her. She positioned herself close enough to Draco, almost behind him. She was clearly not the only one who wanted to be near him, because directly behind him was Harry, already trying to listen in on Draco's whispered argument with Crabbe.  

It didn't seem as though Draco had noticed that Harry was standing behind him as he continued talking to Crabbe, "Look, I don't know how much longer." He whispered irritably. "It's taking longer that I thought it would."

Céline's eyebrows creased a little as she hears him talk. She glanced at Harry who was listening closely. Crabbe opened his mouth to speak, but as if Draco guessed what he was going to ask he spoke again. "It's not any of your business what I'm doing, Crabbe. You and Goyle just need to do as you're told and keep a lookout." Draco says harshly.

"I'd tell my friends what I'm up to, if I wanted them to keep a lookout for me." Said Harry, loud enough for Draco to hear. Draco turned around at his voice, his hand instinctively moving to his wand, but then looked next to him to Céline. Harry followed Draco's gaze to see her standing near him. He hadn't realized that she had been standing there listening too. She had an undreadable expression on her face. When Draco was about to say something the four Head of House, shouted for everyone to quiet down.
