The next morning, Céline woke up earlier than the other girls, to try and get dressed before they woke up. Tracey had sat up in her bed rubbing her eyes, just as Céline finished buttoning up her uniform top."You're up early." Tracey yawned, startling Céline. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you" she smiled.
Céline smiled back at her, "Good morning and it's quite alright, I was just lost in my own thoughts." She looked back in the full length mirror that was next to the basin. Their dorm looked almost identical as the one they had the year prior and girls claimed the same beds as they had as well.
She looked herself over in the mirror to see if anything showed, when she was satisfied she finished tucking her white button up into her dark gray pleated skirt and then she tied her emerald green and silver striped necktie, and slipped on her dark gray cardigan
Tracey finally got up shuffling her way over to Daphne, pulling the pillow from under her and throwing it back on her head. That earned a muffled groan from Daphne, and she shot up throwing the pillow to the ground, glaring at Tracey.
"Why?" Was all Daphne said to her friend who was giggling.
"Because if I just called for you, you would'nt've gotten up." She laughed walking over to the basin to wash her face.
Daphne huffed and got up. Seeing that Pansy was still sleeping, she picked up her pillow off the floor and threw it at Pansy's head. Then quickly made herself busy by opening her trunk, pretending to look for something.
Pansy sat up angrily in her bed and looked at the three girls, "which one of you was it?" She shrieked. Everyone stifled their laughter, looking at her innocently. But Daphne couldn't hold it in any more and burst into laughter. Pansy glared at her and threw her pillow back at her. "You! Why on earth would you wake me up like that?"
Céline and Tracey joined in the laughter, Pansy groaned and rolled her eyes as she got out of bed.
Once all the girls were all dressed, they headed down to the common room, where she saw the boys hanging out. It reminded Céline of her first day last year, them all sitting on the leather couches. She smiled at the thought.
Theodore looked at the girls coming down the staircase. "Good morning, girls." He grinned. He stood up and walked over and put his elbow on Céline's shoulder. She looked up to him with an eyebrow raised, she smiled at him "Theo, you've gotten taller."
His mouth formed into a flirtatious smirk, "and you've gotten prettier." He said, wiggling his eyebrows.
She laughed and rolled her eyes, then removed his elbow off her shoulder, because it happened to be an area with a particularly sensitive bruise. "I appreciate that, but I'm not your arm rest."
Draco watched them, slightly frowning. He wondered since when she called him Theo. He was sure he was the only one she called by his last name. He hated it. "Lets go." He said curtly walking to the entrance. They all looked at him confused, but didn't argue since they were hungry.
They all walked out of the dungeon, thankful that they're not too far from the Great Hall. As Céline was talking with Daphne and Tracey, she was greeted by other students along the way. She would smile and wave back at them, not stopping her conversation with her friends.
The only thing that did stop her mid sentence was seeing Pansy practicing throwing herself into Draco. Her two friends looked to where she was looking, Daphne shook her head, "I think Parkinson is really determined this year to get his attention." She said quietly to her.
"She's always been determined. She's been obsessed with Malfoy since the first year." Tracey rolled her eyes.
Céline didn't say anything about it, she had seen Pansy always around him last year, but she never thought much of it. Seeing it now, however, made her chest tighten a little.
They made their way to the Great Hall for breakfast and sat in their usual seating arrangement; Theo, across the table from him was Blaise, next to Blaise was Pansy, next to her were Crabbe and Goyle. Across from him was Tracey and Daphne, next to Daphne was Céline and next to her was Draco. This is how they were practically sitting most of last year, until Céline started to avoid them when she was getting bullied.
Pansy had a deep frown when she saw Céline and Draco sitting with each other. During her first and second year it was her who sat next to Draco, but ever since Céline had come to their school, Pansy noticed how Draco's attention was always on her. Always curious as to what she was doing, or where she was. Whether he was aware of it or not.
As much as she wanted to hate Céline, she found it rather difficult. She was too nice, she would always help with her homework and studying, even when Pansy's attitude was terrible. when Pansy had found out she was being bullied, she was furious as to who would do such a thing.
This year, though, when she saw her the night before, during dinner, Pansy got jealous. As always, Draco's attention was on Céline, but what made it worse was that Céline got prettier over summer. A lot prettier. Even when she was drenched in water and looked miserable, she still had some sort of elegance to her. A lot of boys, not only in their house but also in others, have taken notice, but to her displeasure, especially Draco. Pansy notices his eyes linger on the green eyed girl a little longer than usual. She hated it.
She felt like she needed to try hard to gain his attention. Pansy did not want to lose to Céline, when she had liked him since the beginning. Pansy looked down at her food and picked at it grumpily, as she looked over her classes for the year.
Céline was also looking at her classes for the day, double transfiguration first, then Care of Magical Creatures, then Ancient Runes.
"Another year with those gryffindors and that oaf?" Draco spat.
Céline looked over to his schedule and then hers. They had Care of Magical Creatures together. She then looked over to Daphne's schedule and saw the same as hers and she smiled, "we have the same Daph." Daphne looked between the two papers.
"It looks like you suck with me and Tracey!" She beamed. She put her paper on the table and began eating her breakfast that consisted of toast with marmalade, some fruits and orange juice.
Draco looked down at her schedule and saw he also had the same schedule. The paper was suddenly removed from the table when a hand reached over him. He looked at Theo going over Céline's schedule.
"Looks like we only have our second class together, Célly." Theo said, pretending to be heartbroken.
Céline looked at him, hand in mid air holding a grape, baffled, "Célly?" She asked him. He nodded and shrugged his shoulders.
"Yeah, I thought it was cute."
"It's not." Céline and Draco said at the same time. Their group of friends look at the two surprised. Draco and Céline look at each other for a second.
"They're not wrong, Theo." Daphne laughed and Theo chuckled.
Céline shook her head and popped the grape into her mouth. Draco grabbed a green apple and took a bite, unable to say anything else.
