Cedric handed her a small bunch of grapes which she happily accepted.

"Would you mind staying here when they start announcing who the champions are?" Cedric asked. "I feel like you'd be my good luck charm."

Her cheeks reddened. "Sure."

At long last the plates cleared and the room grew quiet instantly once Dumbledore stood up on his feet. Everyone looked at him in anticipation.

"Well, the goblet is almost ready to make its decision," said Dumbledore. "I estimate that it requires one more minute. Now, when the champions' names are called, I would ask them please to come up to the top of the Hall, walk along the staff table, and go through into the next chamber" — he indicated the door behind the staff table — "where they will be receiving their first instructions."

With a flick of his wand all the candles, apart from the ones in the carved pumpkins were extinguished. Making the room succumb to a semidarkness. This made the blue-white flame from the goblet glow even brighter.

Céline felt a hand grab onto her hers. She looked down and then to the owner of the hand, Cedric had glanced over to her with a sheepish smile before looking back towards the headmaster.

She couldn't help but blush.  In the last month of getting to know Cedric she couldn't help but have a bit of a crush on him. Not only was he very handsome, but mostly because they had a lot in common and she felt like he was easy to talk to.

After what felt like forever, the flames of the goblet suddenly turned red again and sparks began to fly, and the next moment a tongue of flame into the air and a charred parchment fluttered out of it. Everyone gasped.

Dumbledore caught the paper and held it out so it was illuminated by the now blue-white flame.

"The champion for Durmstrang," he read loud and clear. "Viktor Krum!"

The room erupted into a cheer, as he stood up and walked towards Dumbledore, across the staff table and into the next chamber.

The clapping and chatting quieted down again once the flames turned red again. Cedric's hand righted around Céline's in excitement. The goblet shot out another charred parchment

Dumbledore caught it again and read aloud, "The Beauxbatons champion will be" Céline's hand also tightened as she went a bit stiff. "Fleur Delacore!"

The room roared into cheers again, as Fleur stood up from the Ravenclaw table and walked up to the front and into the chamber as well.

Céline leaned in, close to Cedric, "good luck." She said he looked at her and smiled at her.

The whole room went dead silent with excitement. The Hogwarts champion was next...

The goblet turned red again and a tongue of fire shot high into the air, propelling the last piece of parchment out.

Dumbledore grabbed and everyone leaned in. "The Hogwarts champion is.... Cedric Diggory!"

Céline yelped in excitement and she lunged forward to hug him, he immediately held her by the waist. As his fellow housemates leaned over and patted him in the back and head. Everyone cheered with excitement.

He finally let go of Céline and stood up giving her one last beaming smile before walking up to Dumbledore, across the table and disappearing into the chambers. The roar of applause was so great for Cedric that it lasted for a while before Dumbledore was able to speak again.

"Excellent!" Dumbledore boomed excitedly. The room finally quieted down, but there was still a hum of excitement emanating in the Great Hall. "Well, we now have our three champions. I am sure I can count upon all of you, including the remaining students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, to give your champions every ounce of support you can muster. By cheering your champion on, you will contribute in a very real —"
