The door to Bakugo's room creaks open, and Rose steps out, her cheeks still flushed from the steamy moment they shared moments ago. She's trying to compose herself, but the heat in her face is undeniable. Bakugo follows right behind her, his usual grumpy expression firmly in place, though there's an unmistakable tension between them now—something different, something the group isn't used to seeing.
Kaminari looks up from the couch, his eyebrows shooting up as he exchanges a knowing glance with Kirishima. The silence in the room is thick as they watch the two walk into the common area. Kaminari's eyes widen slightly, and he can't resist the grin that tugs at his lips. "Did they really just...?"
Kirishima tries to play it cool, but there's a curious glint in his eyes as he watches them. He leans back in his seat, crossing his arms as if he's waiting for one of them to say something. But it's clear from the way Rose is blushing and the way Bakugo is grumpily glaring at anyone who dares to look their way that something definitely happened.
For a few moments, no one says anything. The tension in the room is palpable, with Rose's flushed face and Bakugo's irritated demeanor practically confirming what the group suspects. Kaminari opens his mouth to say something, but the look Bakugo shoots him makes him snap his mouth shut instantly.
Rose's face is burning, and she can feel the weight of everyone's stares. She fidgets slightly, avoiding eye contact as she quickly makes her way toward the kitchen. "They definitely heard us..." she thinks, mortified. She can't even look at Bakugo right now, but she knows he's handling the situation in his typical grouchy way.
Bakugo, of course, is having none of it. His arms are crossed, his scowl deepening as he notices the smirks on Kaminari and Kirishima's faces. He shoots them a glare that clearly says "Don't even think about it." "What the hell are you staring at?" he growls, his voice low and dangerous.
As the tension in the room starts to ease, the group gathers around the common area, trying to shift focus to Rose's recovery. Kaminari, still grinning, sits on the arm of the couch, his curiosity clearly piqued. "So, about that quirk backfire," he says, his tone casual but curious. "Why did it drain you instead of circling back to give you energy? That's not how Siphon usually works, right?"
Rose takes a deep breath, trying to steady herself as she joins the group. She's still weak from the ordeal with the mirror quirk hero, and her body hasn't fully recovered. She shrugs slightly, her voice soft but thoughtful. "I'm not entirely sure. My quirk reflects energy when I absorb it, but with that hero's quirk... it was different."
Kirishima nods, his brow furrowing in thought. "Yeah, that mirror quirk was something else. It reflected everything back at us, even your quirk." He glances at her, concern in his eyes. "Maybe it was too much to handle all at once?"
She bites her lip, thinking back to the fight. "It felt like I was caught in an endless loop," she admits. "Normally, when I take someone's energy, it's like a one-way transfer. But with that mirror quirk, it just... kept bouncing back. I couldn't break the cycle."
Kaminari nods, his expression serious now. "So, instead of just taking their energy, you ended up stuck in a feedback loop? That's why you drained yourself?"
Bakugo stays quiet, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, but his gaze never leaves Rose. He's still on edge after what happened, but he's also hyper-aware of the change in their dynamic. He knows the others have picked up on it too, though he's not about to let them pry. "She'll recover," he says gruffly, cutting off the discussion. "Just needs time."
As the conversation shifts back to Rose's recovery, the group can't help but notice the subtle changes in the dynamic between her and Bakugo. The way he stays close to her, the way her blush deepens whenever their eyes meet—it's all too obvious for them to ignore.
Kirishima exchanges a quick glance with Kaminari, his grin widening. "You two seem... closer than usual," he teases, trying to keep the mood light. "Everything alright?"
Rose's blush intensifies, and she quickly busies herself with her drink, avoiding the knowing looks from the others. "We're fine," she mumbles, though her heart is still racing. She can feel Bakugo's presence beside her, and it only makes her more flustered.
Bakugo glares at Kirishima, clearly not in the mood for teasing. "Shut up," he growls, his tone sharp. But despite his usual grumpiness, there's a possessive edge to the way he stands protectively near Rose, as if daring anyone to question what's going on between them.
