The group has prepared for another mission, this time to retrieve the last piece necessary for the interference device that Rose and Kaminari are building. It's a high-stakes operation, requiring stealth and precision. They're gathered just outside the facility they need to infiltrate, weapons and gear ready.
Rose stands with her arms crossed, mentally running through the plan one last time. The interference device is almost complete, and with this final piece, they'll be able to jam any tracking signals the heroes try to plant on them. But her quirk is already acting up—the craving for Bakugo's energy is growing stronger by the hour, making it hard to focus.
She shakes her head, trying to push the craving down. "I can get through this without taking his energy," she tells herself, though she knows it's becoming harder each time. "I don't need him right now."
The group moves in, keeping to the shadows as they make their way through the facility. The plan is to be in and out quickly, avoiding any unnecessary fights. Rose's head is pounding, her body aching from the effort of suppressing her quirk, but she stays focused on the mission.
Bakugo moves silently beside her, his eyes flicking to her every so often. He can see the tension in her body, the way she's struggling to keep up. "She's pushing herself again," he thinks, his frustration simmering. He knows she needs his energy—he can feel the pull too—but she's stubbornly refusing to admit it.
As they sneak through the facility, Bakugo finally can't take it anymore. He leans closer to her, his voice a harsh whisper. "You need to take my energy, dammit. You're slowing down."
She glares at him, her voice equally quiet but laced with irritation. "I'm fine. I don't need it right now."
Bakugo scowls, his frustration clear. "You're lying. I can see it. Just take it already."
They continue moving through the facility, but the tension between them is palpable. Bakugo stays close to Rose, his voice persistent as he keeps pushing her to take his energy. His need for her to rely on him is growing, fueled not just by his desire to help her but by his own craving for the connection they share when she draws from him.
He grits his teeth, his voice low but insistent. "Stop being stubborn. You're going to get yourself killed if you keep this up. Just take it."
Her hands clench into fists, her patience wearing thin. She can feel the pull of his energy, the way her body craves it, but something inside her refuses to give in. Not like this. "I told you, I don't need it."
Bakugo's tone is laced with his rising frustration, "Dammit, Rosalia, this isn't the time to be playing tough. We're on a mission."
The craving is becoming unbearable, but her heart is pounding with more than just the need for his energy. She knows why she's holding back—why she's fighting it. She needs him to understand, to admit to what's happening between them.
As they duck into a small storage area to avoid being spotted, Rose finally snaps. The frustration, the craving, the constant back-and-forth—it all boils over. She whirls on Bakugo, her voice low but filled with anger.
"I'm not taking your energy until you admit it," she hisses, her eyes blazing. "Admit what's going on between us, at least to yourself."
Bakugo freezes, his eyes widening slightly in shock. For a moment, he's speechless, her words hitting him harder than any blow. He clenches his fists, his heart pounding in his chest. "What the hell is she talking about?" he thinks, though deep down, he knows exactly what she means.
He scowls, his voice rough. "There's nothing to admit. This is about the mission."
Rose shakes her head, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and hurt. "No, it's not. You're not just doing this because you care about the mission, Bakugo. It's more than that, and you know it."
The air between them is thick with tension, the sounds of the facility a distant hum as they stand in the small room, locked in a battle of wills. Bakugo's chest tightens, the truth hovering on the edge of his mind, but he can't bring himself to say it.
His voice is tight, his hands trembling slightly. "We don't have time for this. We need to move."
But Rose doesn't back down. Her voice softens slightly, but the intensity remains. "I'm not doing this anymore, Bakugo. I'm not just going to take your energy like it's nothing, like we can pretend there's not something more going on here."
Bakugo's heart races, his frustration and confusion boiling over. He takes a step closer to her, his voice a low growl. "You don't know what you're talking about."
She stands her ground, her voice steady despite the storm of emotions inside her. "Then prove me wrong. Tell me you don't feel it too."
Bakugo stares at her, his jaw clenched, the weight of her words pressing down on him. He opens his mouth to respond, but nothing comes out. He can't say it. He can't deny what he's been feeling—the pull, the connection, the way his mind always circles back to her.
The tension lingers between them for a long moment, the silence heavy with everything left unsaid. Finally, Rose shakes her head, stepping back slightly, her voice filled with quiet resignation.
"Forget it," she mutters, turning toward the door. "Let's just finish the mission."
Bakugo watches her go, his chest tight with frustration and something else—something deeper, more confusing. He wants to say something, to stop her, but the words are stuck in his throat. "Why can't I just admit it?" he thinks, his fists clenching again.
