Chapter 18

A few days have passed since the mission where Rose lost control of her quirk. The team is back at headquarters, going through their regular training sessions. However, Rose has been noticeably holding back, opting to focus on her physical strength rather than relying on her quirk.

Kaminari watches as Rose spars with Kirishima, but there's something different about her movements. "She's not using her quirk as much," he mutters to Sero. "Is it just me, or is she holding back?"

Sero nods, "Yeah, I noticed that too. She's always been heavy on the quirk, but lately... nothing. Weird."

Kirishima blocks a hit from Rose, frowning as he notices her reluctance to push herself. "Hey, Rose," he says mid-spar, "why aren't you using your quirk? You feeling okay?"

She forced a smile, "I'm fine, Red. Just trying to focus on my brute strength for a bit."

The group exchanges glances but says nothing more for the moment. They trust Rose, but it's clear something is bothering her.

Bakugo stands at the edge of the training area, arms crossed, watching the sparring sessions. His eyes are locked on Rose, noticing the way she avoids using her quirk, relying only on hand-to-hand combat.

"She's not using it at all," he thinks, frowning. "She's scared of it." He clenches his jaw, frustrated by her hesitance. "Damn it, Rose, you can't just stop using your quirk."

But he says nothing, knowing that confronting her in front of the others won't help. Instead, he watches, silently fuming.

Later that day, the group gathers in the strategy room. Bakugo stands in front of the map, his expression serious as he outlines the next mission. The group has agreed to join Todoroki and his crew of villains to disrupt a hero convoy and steal a valuable device.

Bakugo speaks gruffly, "Alright, listen the hell up. We're joining Todoroki's crew for this one. The target is a high-security hero convoy transporting a device. Not a damn quirk enhancer—something more valuable. We need to hit them fast and hard."

Kaminari raises an eyebrow, "Todoroki, huh? Never thought we'd be working with his group."

Sero grins, "This should be interesting. We haven't teamed up with them in a while."

Kirishima nods, "It's a risky mission. But if we pull this off, it'll be huge."

Bakugo's eyes flicker to Rose, watching for her reaction. "She better not hesitate on this one, dammit," he thinks. "We can't afford to screw this up."

Rose listens quietly, her mind still on her quirk. She feels the pressure of the mission building, but the memory of losing control keeps creeping into her thoughts. "I'll stick to my strength," she tells herself. "I won't let anyone get hurt because of me."

The team arrives at the meeting point where Todoroki's crew is waiting. The air is tense, but Todoroki greets them with his usual calm demeanor. He's wearing a smirk, his eyes immediately landing on Rose.

Todoroki steps forward, his gaze lingering on Rose with interest. "Well, well," he says smoothly, "you must be Rose. I've heard a lot about you." He leans in slightly, his voice dropping to a flirtatious tone. "And I've got to say, the stories don't do you justice."

Rose raises an eyebrow, smirking at his boldness. "You've heard about me, huh? Hopefully, only the good parts."

Todoroki grins, "Only the best, I assure you."

Rose laughs softly, playing along with the flirtation. "Well, you're not too bad yourself, Todoroki. Guess the rumors about you weren't all exaggerations either."

Bakugo, standing a few feet away, clenches his fists, his anger bubbling just beneath the surface. "Damn Todoroki," he thinks, his eyes narrowing. "Always playing it smooth."

Bakugo steps forward, cutting into the conversation. "Enough flirting, dammit. We've got a damn job to do. Focus, dumbasses."

Todoroki smirks, "Relax, Bakugo. We're all on the same side, aren't we?"

Rose teases, "Yeah, boss. Don't be so uptight. It's just a little fun."

Bakugo huffs, "Let's go. Now."
