The night is still, and the moon casts a pale glow over the family compound. The group moves swiftly, their bags packed, their faces tense as they make their way through the quiet halls. Bakugo leads, his expression determined. Rose stays close by, her mind racing with the sudden reality of their departure.
Bakugo keeps his steps steady, his mind locked on the plan. We need to move fast, he thinks, his eyes darting around to make sure no one is following them. As they exit the compound's main building, he glances at Rose, knowing the hardest part is yet to come. "I'll fill you in once we're out of here," he mutters.
After a tense drive in the dark of night, the group arrives at the airfield where a sleek jet waits for them, deja vu. The air feels thick with anticipation as Rose's eyes widen, realizing that her grandmother was behind this part of the plan. The familiarity of the jet and the controls remind her of the lessons her cousin Rio had given her.
Her heart tightens. "Grandma really did this for me," she thinks, touched by the gesture. Her chest aches with the weight of leaving her family again, but she knows there's no other choice. As they approach the jet, she turns to Bakugo. "This was her idea, wasn't it? She knew I'd be able to fly."
"Yeah," Bakugo replies, his tone softer than usual. "Your grandma gave me the plan. She knows what you're capable of. She just wants you safe."
"I'll miss her. And Rio..." The thought is bittersweet as Rose takes the pilot's seat, her hands instinctively moving to the controls. She feels the weight of leaving again, but the presence of Bakugo by her side gives her strength.
The jet's engines hum to life, and Rose expertly maneuvers the aircraft into the night sky. The city lights below them grow smaller as they rise higher, leaving Rio's compound—and her past—behind.
As she sets the course for South America, her hands tremble slightly on the controls. "I'm really leaving them again," she thinks, her heart heavy. But she knows it's the only way to keep her and Bakugo safe.
Once the jet is safely on autopilot, Bakugo reaches into his jacket and pulls out the letter. He hands it to Rosalia, his eyes watching her closely. "Your grandma wanted you to have this."
Rose's heart skips a beat as she takes the envelope, her fingers shaking slightly. She tears it open, her eyes scanning the familiar handwriting. As she reads, her emotions flood her, her eyes stinging with unshed tears.
"My dearest Rosalia," the letter begins. "I know you must feel torn, leaving again. But I want you to know that I love you and I understand why you need to go. You were always meant to fly, and I won't hold you back."
Rosalia's heart tightens as she reads on.
"But be careful, mi nieta. There are people who will come for you. Rio may not have told you everything, but there are eyes on you. Your quirk, your strength—they make you a target. I'm not saying this to scare you, but to prepare you. Be strong. Stay close to Bakugo. I know he'll protect you, and I trust him."
"People will be after me?" Rosalia's stomach drops, the weight of her grandmother's warning settling deep in her chest. "Who? Why didn't Rio tell me?"
"You will always have a place here, should you ever return. And remember, I am proud of you. Follow your heart, my little Rosalia. It will guide you to where you need to be. But stay safe. And know that you are always loved."
Rose folds the letter carefully, her chest tight with emotion. Her grandmother's words resonate deeply—both the love and the warning. She looks at Bakugo, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "She said... people will be after me."
Bakugo's jawclenches, but he softens when he sees the emotion in her eyes. He moves closer, resting a hand on her shoulder. "We'll handle it," he says, his voice steady."No one's taking you from me."
