Bakugo stands in front of the group, his usual serious expression firmly in place as everyone listens intently. Rose sits nearby, her eyes focused on Bakugo as she waits to hear how things went with her cousin. The room is quiet as Bakugo begins to explain.
"We came to an agreement," Bakugo starts, his voice firm. "We're going to help Rio on a mission of his choosing, and we'll follow his orders when needed. But we keep control of our own group. We're independent."
The group exchanges glances, absorbing the news. Bakugo notices Rose's curiosity but chooses not to mention Rio's refusal to let her leave, unsure of how she'd react.
"So... since we've got our independence," Kaminari begins, leaning forward with a grin, "do we stay on Rio's family compound, or are we moving somewhere else?"
"I mean, it's nice here, but it doesn't really feel like our place," Sero adds, glancing around at the others.
Rose smiles, thinking of a place that might suit them better. "We could move out west," she suggests, her voice soft but confident. "Rio and I have a beach hideout out there. It's more secluded, and we'd have plenty of space."
"A beach hideout? Now that sounds manly!" Kirishima exclaims, clearly excited by the idea.
Sero grins mischievously. "Yeah, just make sure Bakugo and Rose's rooms are far away from ours this time," he jokes. "We don't want to hear their... late-night activities again."
Rose's face turns bright red as the group bursts into laughter. She glances at Bakugo, but the heat in her cheeks only deepens when she realizes they must have heard them—again.
Bakugo rolls his eyes, though a small smirk tugs at his lips. "Tch. Keep your mouth shut, Sero," he mutters, but there's no real anger behind the words.
"Anyway," Bakugo says, steering the conversation back to business. "Rio invited me and Rosalia to a meeting later tonight. It's with his trusted men."
Rose's smile fades slightly, a flicker of worry crossing her face at the mention of the meeting. She knows how intense her cousin can be, and the thought of discussing the future with his inner circle brings a tightness to her chest.
Bakugo catches the worried look on Rose's face, and his brows furrow slightly. He makes a mental note to check in with her before the meeting, but for now, he stays focused on the group.
The two of them are sitting on the bed, the evening light filtering through the window. Bakugo is preparing for the meeting, his usual confidence slightly tempered by the need to know what he's walking into. Rose, sensing his thoughts, waits patiently as he gathers his words.
"So, what do I need to know about Rio's men?" Bakugo asks, his voice low and measured. He's never one to go into a situation without having all the information he can get. "Who are the key players?"
Rose nods, knowing the names well. "Alright. The big three you need to watch for are Luis, Juan, and Diego," she begins, her tone even as she starts listing them off. "Luis is the intel guy. His quirk lets him access encrypted information without needing tech—it's like he can see through code."
Bakugo raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued but keeping his thoughts to himself. "An intel guy without needing a system? That's a game-changer."
"Then there's Juan, the healer," she continues. "His quirk is called Restoration. He can heal most injuries as long as they're not fatal. He's one of Rio's most trusted men, always there when things go south."
Bakugo nods, mentally filing the information away. Having a healer on their side could be useful, but he's more curious about the next name.
"And Diego?"
She hesitates for just a moment, her voice faltering slightly as she mentions Diego's name. "Diego... he's the demolition expert," she says slowly. "His quirk lets him destabilize molecular structures causing them to disintegrate and explode, kind of like your explosions. He's the guy Rio goes to when he needs something taken down from the inside."
Bakugo immediately notices the hesitation, his eyes narrowing. "Why'd she pause there?" He doesn't say anything right away, but he can feel the unspoken tension between them.
Rosalia continues, trying to keep her tone casual. "Diego's been with Rio for a long time. They're close."
But the hesitation lingers, and she knows Bakugo won't let it go.
"You hesitated," Bakugo says bluntly, his eyes fixed on her. "What's the deal with this Diego guy?"
Rose bites her lip, her gaze shifting away from Bakugo for a moment. She doesn't want to make this more complicated than it needs to be, but she knows she can't hide things from him. "Diego and I... we have a bit of history," she admits quietly. "It was a long time ago, before I left for Japan. But I figured you should know."
Bakugo processes her words, his expression unreadable for a few moments. The idea of anyone having history with Rosalia, especially someone in Rio's inner circle, doesn't sit well with him.
"Tch. Doesn'tmatter," Bakugo says finally, though there's an edge to his voice. "That wasbefore. But don't expect me to trust anyone."
