Chapter 19

The mission begins, and the two groups coordinate their attack on the hero convoy. Todoroki's group takes one side while Bakugo's team takes the other, boxing in the convoy from both directions. The heroes fight back, and the battle is fierce.

Rose jumps into the fray, but unlike her usual style, she doesn't rely on her quirk. Instead, she focuses on her physical strength, using brute force to take down the heroes one by one. Her fists hit hard, but there's something missing—she's holding back.

Bakugo fights alongside her, launching controlled explosions to keep the heroes at bay. But he can't help but notice that Rose isn't using her quirk. "Damn it, why is she holding back?" he thinks, his frustration growing. "This isn't the time for her to be scared."

Todoroki, fighting on the other side of the convoy, glances at Rose occasionally, noticing her hesitation. He calls out to her with a playful smirk. "What's wrong, Rose? You holding back on me?"

Rose forces a grin, "Just warming up, Todoroki. Don't worry, I've got this."

As the battle continues, Todoroki keeps up the flirtatious banter with Rose, making comments that only fuel Bakugo's jealousy. Finally, after one particularly close exchange, Bakugo snaps.

Todoroki grins, "You know, Rose, you and I make a great team. Maybe we should work together more often."

Rose teases, "Careful, Todoroki. You're starting to sound like you've got a crush."

Bakugo's anger boils over. He turns sharply toward Todoroki, his voice low and dangerous. "Back off, Todoroki. She's not here to play your damn games."

Rose stops mid-fight, surprised by Bakugo's outburst.

Todoroki quirks a brow, "Jealous, Bakugo? Didn't realize you were the possessive type."

Bakugo growls, "Shut up and do your damn job."

As the battle reaches its peak, the heroes push back hard, and Rose realizes that she can't keep relying solely on her physical strength. They're being overwhelmed, and she needs to act.

Her heart races as she watches her teammates struggle. "I don't want to lose control again," she thinks. "But if I don't use my quirk, we'll lose."

She takes a deep breath and makes a split-second decision. She uses her quirk, draining the energy of the nearest hero and feeling the familiar rush of power flood through her.

Bakugo watches her carefully, his anger fading into something closer to concern. "Good," he thinks. "She's using it. But she better not hold back now."

"I've got this," she thinks as she drains another hero, feeling the power surge through her. But as more heroes close in, she realizes she needs more energy fast. Bakugo is too far, and there's no time to wait.

She turns her gaze toward Todoroki, who's fighting nearby and makes a quick decision. "Todoroki! I need some of your energy!"

Todoroki doesn't hesitate. He steps closer, offering his arm with a confident grin. "Anything for you, Rose."

Rose smirks, light pink tinting her cheeks at his words, "Thanks for the boost."

Rose places her hand on Todoroki's arm and begins to drain his energy. It's controlled and precise, just enough to recharge her. She feels the usual surge of power, but unlike with Bakugo, there's no overwhelming intensity, no connection that makes her feel anything more than strength.
