After Rose's groggy wake-up and the group's silent questions, the atmosphere remains tense. Bakugo stands near the door now, arms crossed, his expression unreadable. The tension in his body, however, betrays his real thoughts—he doesn't want to be here when Todoroki returns, especially with she's now awake.
"We're leaving," Bakugo says, his voice gruff, breaking the silence that had settled over the group.
Kaminari looks up from his spot on the couch, frowning in confusion. "Leaving? Already? Rose is still recovering."
Bakugo grits his teeth, "She's fine now." He glances at her briefly, then looks away, the tightness in his jaw clear. "I'm not sticking around for Todoroki to come back and make this damn situation more complicated."
The group exchanges looks, picking up on Bakugo's unspoken frustration. They know he's talking about Todoroki's blatant flirting with Rose, though he doesn't say it outright. Kirishima raises an eyebrow but doesn't press the issue. "Alright. If Bakugo says we're moving out, then we should listen."
Sero grins, "I guess he doesn't want to witness the Todoroki-Rose flirt show again."
Bakugo's hands clench into fists for a moment, but he doesn't respond to Sero's comment. Instead, he turns toward the door, his voice tense. "Let's go."
The group gathers their things and follows Bakugo out of Todoroki's hideout, moving through the quiet city streets. As they walk, Kirishima jogs up to Bakugo, his curiosity piqued by Bakugo's mention of another hideout.
"So, what's the deal with this secret hideout of yours?" Kirishima asks, his voice light. "How many of these places do you have, exactly?"
Bakugo shrugs, his eyes scanning the area as they walk. "Enough. I've got backups on top of backups for situations like this."
Kaminari, still walking a little slower due to his earlier injury, looks over at Bakugo with raised eyebrows. "Wait, so you have more than just one secret hideout? How many are we talking about?"
Bakugo replies gruffly, "Enough to keep us off the heroes' radar. I don't make the same mistake twice, dammit."
Sero whistles, clearly impressed. "Damn, Bakugo. You've really thought this through, huh?"
He nods, "I don't take chances. If one place gets compromised, we move to the next. Simple."
As the group moves through the city, Bakugo and Rose walk side by side, closer than they usually would. The tension that often exists between them is absent for once, replaced by a quiet, unspoken understanding. Their hands brush lightly against each other as they walk, the contact brief but charged.
She glances at Bakugo from the corner of her eye, her heart fluttering slightly at the soft brush of their hands. She doesn't pull away, and neither does he.
Bakugo is acutely aware of how close they are, his hand occasionally brushing against hers as they walk. He doesn't say anything, but the quiet connection between them feels undeniable. "She needs my energy," he thinks, though deep down, he knows it's more than that. "And I need her to be okay."
Neither of them speaks as they walk, but the brief contact between them feels electric, charged with unspoken feelings that neither is ready to confront. The rest of the group walks ahead, unaware of the quiet moment happening between them.
After walking for a while, the group arrives at Bakugo's secret hideout—a smaller, more compact space than their previous one, but still comfortable and secure. The building is tucked away in a quiet, nondescript part of the city, hidden from view.
Kirishima steps inside, looking around with raised eyebrows. "It's smaller than the last place, but it feels secure."
Bakugo steps inside after him, his eyes scanning the room. "It's not about size. It's about staying under the damn radar. No one will think to look for us here."
Sero moves toward one of the storage areas, pulling open a cabinet filled with supplies. "You've really stocked up here too, huh? Food, weapons... everything we need."
Bakugo huffs, "Like I said. Backups on top of backups. I don't take risks."
Kaminari, still limping slightly, sinks onto one of the couches with a sigh. "I guess it's good to know we have more places like this. Especially after what just happened."
Rose moves toward oneof the small windows, looking out at the quiet street below. She still feels alittle worn from overusing her quirk, but the sight of this new, safe spacebrings a sense of relief. "We're safe for now," she thinks, though she can't shake the feeling that more danger is coming.
