The jet descends smoothly, the abandoned airstrip stretching out beneath them. The surrounding area is desolate, with nothing but barren land and a few distant mountains in sight. Rose is still in the cockpit, her fingers steady on the controls as she guides the plane to a stop.
Her eyes flicker with exhaustion as the plane comes to a halt. She lets out a quiet sigh, glancing at Bakugo through the cockpit window. "This is it." She knows the questions are coming, and she's not ready to answer them—not all of them.
Bakugo stands near the back of the plane, his arms crossed over his chest as they land. His gaze never leaves her, a storm of emotions brewing in his mind. "What's next, Rosalia?" His frustration is mounting, but he stays quiet for now.
The group steps out of the jet, blinking against the bright sunlight as they take in the empty landscape around them. The airstrip looks abandoned, with no sign of life for miles. It's eerily quiet.
Kirishima rubs the back of his neck, his brow furrowed. "Is this it? There's... nothing here," he mutters, looking around at the barren landscape.
Sero nods, his eyes scanning the area. "This is kinda creepy, not gonna lie," he says, shoving his hands into his pockets. "What's the plan, Rose?"
Bakugo's patience finally snaps, and he rounds on Rose, his voice tight with irritation. "Alright, enough with the mystery," he growls. "We're in the middle of nowhere. What now?"
Rose meets his gaze, but there's a hint of reluctance in her eyes. She can feel the weight of his frustration, but she's not ready to explain everything yet. "Follow me," she says quietly, brushing past him as she heads toward a distant payphone.
The group follows her in silence as she makes her way to an old, rusted payphone near the edge of the airstrip. She pauses for a moment, glancing back at the group, then pulls out a handful of coins and inserts them into the machine.
Kaminari raises an eyebrow as he watches her. "What's she doing?" he whispers to Kirishima, his voice filled with curiosity.
Kirishima shrugs. "No idea. But she's being really mysterious right now."
Rose dials a number, her fingers steady despite the tension building inside her. The phone rings twice before someone on the other end picks up. She pauses for a moment, then speaks in a low, measured tone—in Spanish.
"It's me. I need some help."
There's a brief pause as the person on the other end responds, but the words are lost to the group. She listens carefully, her expression unreadable. After a few moments, she nods once and hangs up without another word.
The group watches in silence as she turns back toward them, her face calm but guarded. Bakugo's eyes narrow, the frustration in his voice unmistakable. "What the hell was that?" he demands, his tone sharp. "Who were you talking to?"
Rose shrugs, her expression unreadable. "I told you before, I'm not from Japan," she says quietly, meeting Bakugo's glare with a steady gaze. "I needed to make a call. That's all."
Bakugo's jawclenches, but there's something about the way she says it that makes himhesitate. "Not from Japan..." The pieces are starting to fallinto place, but it only makes him more frustrated. "What else are youhiding?" He holds back the questions for now, but the tension betweenthem is palpable.
